Valheim has been tremendously entertaining, straight out the gate. With varied environments, great visuals (the lighting in this game is just beautiful), an enjoyable soundtrack and an addictive gameplay loop, I was hooked in just a few minutes. The game is a great change of pace for survival-sandbox type games, with actual goals and a setting heavily inspired by norse mythology.

Both the exploration and building aspects of the game are quite enjoyable. The biomes have a mix of beautiful and calm, and eerie and creepy, with monsters to match. The game somewhat guides you towards the right objective, with the ravens Hugin and Munin providing "tutorial" tips, and the difficulty of the environment being dependent on how far away from the starting area you travel.

The game is a relatively bug-free experience, the worst problems I've encountered have been desync issues with the dedicated server we've been playing on. In my opinion, Iron Gate Studio are among the very few developers who have done early access right.

I don't know what's wrong with this game, but it's great.
