The game is fun and has great fundamentals. Some mechanics and menus need polish, which is to be expected with a Paradox game. They are already addressing player-reported issues and desires which is great to see. The game is fundamentally an economic simulator and has an addicting game loop of progression. Warfare probably needs the most polish, but switching to diplomatic plays and having a hands-off front style warfare I think makes sense for the game and is actually nice to not have to micromanage.

It doesn't feel like Imperator at launch at all, which was lacking a rich, complex game loop and felt like it didn't know what it was trying to be. This game knows exactly what it's trying to be. I expect a few years down the line this will be known as one of the best Paradox games.

This game is very simple. You just lower the enemy health bar before they lower yours. You're welcome.
