Getting really tired of Relic not knowing how to make AI that don't just cheat. Got tired of Blitzkrieg because of the constant mortar spam on stealth units and this game is just as bad. Calling artillery strikes on never spotted units is a passion of Relic. It's no wonder their newest game is a flop too with how little effort they seem to put into anything besides art and math.

A great title for when you can't stand the idiots in multiplayer games.

Gaijin f**ked up BAD and their very Russian attempts to cover up their failures instead of just fixing the @#$%^&*( problems with the game is embarassing.

Absolutely brilliant!

Originally released in 2008 on disk, Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion is the latest standalone expansion to the first SIns title that includes all the previous content into one game. THIS is the one you want to get.

The game itself is fantastic with endless replayability and modability to boot! The community has exceptional 3rd party developers and artists that have made a great many fan projects; complete overhauls to mirror the universe of popular titles like Star Wars, Star Trek, Halo, and Mass Effect to name some of the more popular. The development team makes excellent patches with accurate notation explaining what caused problems or why they did certain decisions, showing great accountability. The game is stable on a wide variety of hardware and with stronger systems can make for literally days of entertainment on a single match if you wanted. A sequel was announced last year as well.

My 3 favorite features that makes this game stand out for me:
1: Singleplayer time dilation, i.e. 1x, 2x, 4x, 8x speeds
2: 3 Factions that are different enough to be easily distinguishable but not be so alien to each other to require a ground up relearning of the game.
3: Strike craft, and done very well, at that

I owned the disk of the original game and bought Rebellion as soon as I realized I could and have never regretted it. Great game.

The original game was so good. This alleged "Enhanced" version seems to have been enhanced with fail coding. Repeatedly disconnected from servers, massive memory leaks, low AF FPS even on medium settings, and the new squadron editor is a joke. Why change something that was just fine before you ruined it?

This is the only game I own that makes my PC lock up from overheating even when not on max settings. I can play Insurgency: sandstorm on max settings for hours without that problem but this game runs maybe 45 minutes on medium before it craps out. Not an isolated incident, either. Literally happened 2 times today and 10 over the previous two days. I only have 11 hours in the game, you do the math.

Overall it's a fun game but holy s**t does it need to be optimized.

Yet again the devs have paid Youtubers to advertise that they "Fixed" the game yet you still get spotted and engaged through objects the AI can't see through like the STEEL DOORS which has been a problem SINCE LAUNCH.

68 of my 121 Steam friends own this game and a further 17 had it on their wishlist, now 6.

UPDATE: The SWAT AI refuse to path to the roof on the 4th mission. Literally unplayable.

This DLC is fantastic. Most of the negative reviews are from people who either don't read the tooltips that explain how the DLC features work or can't comprehend it. I personally found this DLC to be amazing. It definitely took a few hours to get a grip on how to set up the industrial areas efficiently enough to actually make money, but it was worth it.
I typically don't buy DLCs at $15 but after playing this quite a bit I think it's worth it.

NO QUARTER FOR THE CRAVEN!

The game itself can be fun but if you don't have a dedicated crew to play with, stay away. The community is toxic af and the game is saturated with idiot children that don't listen, don't have mics, and just play to go loud and be stupid. This game can be heart-poundingly fun in stealth but too many pubs ruin the experience because they want to rush everything.

tl;dr Play with friends or not at all.
