This is a fantastic puzzle tactics game, with an engaging story, great characters, funny humor and very fun levels. Each mission is tactically engaging, especially if you try to fulfil the optional Confidence Goals for each character. The difficulty felt just right, providing a degree of challenge without being frustratingly difficult.

My recommendation goes to the lore, enjoyable questlines, great level design, and the awesome new weapons, spells and Ashes of War. Shadow of the Erdtree is a fun DLC for those reasons alone.

I don't recommend this for the bosses. With the exception of a select few of them (of which Messmer is one), the quality of the boss design dropped dramatically when compared to base Elden Ring and even other FromSoft games. There are bosses which, while not difficult, are incredibly annoying to fight, constantly running away from you and tanking hit after hit with their oversized health pools. The lock-in camera doesn't work very well for a lot of them, making the fights more difficult and frustrating than they would've been if the camera worked properly. And the final boss is way, way too difficult, presenting a steep difficulty spike from the rest of the DLC.

It draws heavily from Silent Hill 2 for how it tells its story, so approach it with the right mindset and be ready for some weird ♥♥♥♥. Be sure you're emotionally prepared, too, because this game is soulcrushing.
Overall, it's a pretty fantastic classic Survival Horror game! It's got a great story, great level design, great atmosphere, and it's very creepy and unsettling. The puzzles can be difficult, though, but they're not unbeatable if you have a bit of patience.

Any game that can evoke emotion in me enough to cry is a great game, I think; and this one sure did. It's got one of the best stories I've experienced in a video game, great characterization, and a great protagonist.

Aside from a few questionable design choices, like the obtuse and almost nonsensical character questlines that require you to look up a guide on how to complete them, and a few poorly designed bosses (looking at you, EB), this is the second best soulsborne game I've played. The world's huge and wondrous, the lore is deep, exploration is rewarding, and the game can be as hard or as easy as you want it to be. FromSoft's magnum opus, even if it's not their best work (that honor goes to Bloodborne, in my opinion).

It's a 7/10 from me. It's pretty good as a demo for the rest of the series, but it has a lot of problems. For starters, the inability to rotate the map can make it frustrating to position your teammates. The UI is bad, being unresponsive at times and feeling more like it belongs in a mobile game. The game's very linear and your choices don't matter at all. It's also a very easy game (with a nasty spike in the very final battle), so the simplistic combat can get boring quickly. The level design is decent, I guess - except every Matrix level, those suck. The most egregious aspect, though, has to be how the game doesn't explain you the combat mechanics. How does cover work? What does armor do? Better google it!

But the story, even though it has some pacing issues, is very good! The Sixth World is also fascinating, so this game serves as a neat introduction to the world of Shadowrun. The music is also pretty good and fits the vibes of the game well. The game's short in RPG terms (12 - 14 hours long), but I think that's a good thing! If you can look past the negative aspects, like I can, these basically carry the entire game.

The game is good now that Immortal Empires is out! It's everything I've ever wanted from this trilogy, and the most fun way to play. While it's still in BETA, it seems to be mostly bug free, with the issues pertaining mostly to game balance.

Considering how cheap it is and the range of amazing animated wallpapers that people have created/uploaded, I 100% recommend Wallpaper Engine. I'll even go as far as saying it's a must-have if you like your wallpapers!
