Phenomenal rouge-like deck builder. Perfect for fans of other competitive card games like Magic the Gathering or Hearthstone. It's the most ethical way to build and play absolutely busted decks.

This game is a really faithful adaptation of the combat, level design and puzzles of Paper Mario, and Paper Mario: the Thousand Year Door. If you liked either of those games, Bug Fables is worth a try. It does suffer from a bit of jankiness in some places with it's platforming, if you're using mouse and keyboard. The frequent use of diagonal platforms and some moments that require precise movement or placement can be a bit frustrating, however, it does offer a good variety of challenges and diversity in combat to make up for it.

Early Access Review
I started a new game where I was a mutant who generated electricity by walking around. I found a machine gun very early into the game and was unstoppable at nearly any range. Enemies who survived my hail of bullets were fried by 1000V of electricity. I was beloved by the people of my village, a terror to low-level enemies everywhere, and was best friends with Shookalah, Queen of the Tortoises. Then a psionic enemy melted my brains in 3 turns because my willpower stat was a comfortable -3.

This game is great. The combat (which is most of the core gameplay loop) is challenging, exploration is rewarding, and the game is aesthetically pleasing despite being a total of ~124 pixels. Character creation is engaging since all the available options impact how you'll fight, who you'll sell your loot to, and what fire-breathing nonsense you'll have access to from level one. Maybe you'll be a hulking, spiny animal with the ability to dismember your opponents as soon as they step within melee range, or maybe you'll put all your points into intelligence so you can identify which weird artifacts are hand grenades, and which are folding chairs. Me? I'll just keep dumping all my points into agility so I can use the most powerful spell of all: Shoot Gun.

I give this game a 9/10. Hated by newly setient beings for disparaging their god.

This game is so soothing to play. It's great that you can set it down and come back a few days or weeks later and you don't need too much time to jump back in. Also, it's particularly poignant as a wage slave who longs for freedom and to live off the grid.

Fun game, definitely has an Earthbound style to it. The story is confusing if you haven't played Lisa: the first, but interesting enough without it. Shortish RPG ~10hrs for one playthrough.
