I kind of remember the Half-Life 2 launch day in November 2004. Hurrying home from school, excited to finally play a new Half-Life game. It was sublime then, a gripping story and running great on mid-end hardware. For me, it hasn't lost it's shine over the years.

Replaying the all-in-one version now with developer commentary really gives an inside look of the design choices and hardware limitations of the day. Too bad the update lost all of the achievements from Episode 1 and 2...

Day of Defeat Source is a staple game at any "classic" LAN party. It has offered endless gameplay for almost 20 years to a group of friends. There is nothing more satisfying (in gaming, of course) than having an MG42 deployed on the central area high balcony on Avalanche and ripping into your friends, who are trying to cap the center point. Laughs are had by everyone involved!

FlatOut 2 has been a LAN party staple for almost 18 years. It's graphics still hold up and it's multiplayer gameplay is as enjoyable as ever. By now, it also runs on a potato, so an added bonus :)

While CS2 might be controversial in the very high end competitive scene, as a long-time on-and-off CS player (since CS 1.6), I find CS2 to be a pretty good quality-of-life improvement over CSGO.

Half-Life on the Source engine like it was supposed to be done!

Friends throwing toilets at each other at LAN parties is where HL2DM is at.

The sandbox and 80s experience Reforger offers a throwback to the Operation Flashpoint days.

A quite well done HL2 mod which nicely ties into the original HL2 story.

From the start to the end, Alyx is a quality Half-Life game I've come to expect from Valve.

Even after replaying this piece of childhood gaming nostalgia, it still is as fun and captivating as it was 15-16 years ago. Hoping that Reincarnation will be as fun and even goofier than this old timer.
