Let me just start off by saying I love this game. I have been looking for a game similar to this for what feels like a very long time. It's short and sweet, but the game feel is nearly unmatched; you probably won't find many other games that have movement that feels so tight, let alone other indie games. And for a game that was put together in roughly 2 months from my understanding, this is impressive.

Visually, the game is gorgeous if you are able to appreciate the low-poly retro aesthetic that the game is going for. The music is also very well produced and cohesive and fits the visual presentation quite nicely; it's impressive considering there seem to be 3 different artists on the OST.

Exploring the huge interconnected world is very satisfying and I still haven't completely explored everything and found all of the secrets. There are some pain points here and there in my opinion in regard to level design. For one, it is very easy to get lost, especially right around the midpoint of the game. Additionally, sometimes the hints given to the player are too cryptic and can be more misleading than helpful. I'm thinking in particular around the tower area (I think by this point the community has come to agree that the epitaph can be a bit of an accidental misdirection). Another issue with the tower area is that for such a necessary area, traversing it can be sketchy at best. There's one point prior to gaining the wall cling ability that you are required to perform what at least in my opinion feels like an overly precise string of wall jumps that while still possible do not really feel satisfying (you essentially have to high jump up and angle some sun greave kicks around a right angled wall). It's not that the difficulty of performing these is too much, but that performing this feels rather janky. This is an issue with a few areas overall; sometimes solutions aren't as obvious as they could be, or otherwise the "correct" solution isn't exactly satisfying leaving you to wonder if you somehow cheesed your way to success, which doesn't really feel good. This is a double-edged sword of course because the game's movement is so fluid and open that there are multiple solutions to the same problem in almost every case. Honestly I attribute this to the very short development time; I imagine if the game had been developed for another month or so with a longer testing process this would be a very different story.

While I did have some frustrations at times which did somewhat damage the experience to an extent, it by no means 'ruined' the game or any other such nonsense. Don't let these nitpicks fool you. This game is great and is well worth buying if you have any love for classic 3d platformers, especially something like Super Mario 64 which really nails free and fluid movement mechanics with plenty of depth for you to master. If any of that sounds good to you, then you very likely will adore this game just as I did.

And I'm starting to see a decent amount of buzz for this game as well, mostly from word of mouth. I'm hoping that a lot of people play this and experience what really solid game feel for a 3d platformer can offer in the modern gaming age. I sincerely hope that the developers continue making games, especially games like this because it seems like they've really struck a niche which is so hard to get right. I see that steam lists another game with very similar looking movement is in development by these folks and I am very much looking forward to this. It appears to be semi-roguelike? Procedurally generated? Something like that. I'm not sure how well that will translate for this genre but considering how well they nailed Pseudoregalia I am certainly willing to give it a shot.

So yes, absolutely great game. Banger after banger in the soundtrack (the Twilight Theatre theme lives in my head rent free). Highly recommend anyone with dosh to spare give this game a shot. It is rather short but for a game like this that's perfectly acceptable (some people forget how short Symphony of the Night was and that game is rightfully considered a classic).

Also everyone loves the goat-bunny-cat lady. She's great.
