If you've played the original, the main story is almost identical. There are probably a few slight changes in word choices, but nothing I could really remember off the top of my head.

That being said, there is a lot more content with the addition of the Side Stories, which I actually recommend. It adds some much needed characterisation for the characters, and fleshes things out a bit.

It IS a little odd that the side stories technically take place in an alternate reality, where the main story doesn't happen, and the protagonist doesn't exist, yet the characters still face the screen and interact. Limitation of the engine I suppose.

Something I didn't expect - I think if you find yourself struggling a little with the themes of the main story, or if you're struggling in general, there are some pretty important messages from the side stories. I know this won't be everyone's experience, but I think Team Salvato said some things that I really needed to hear.

Also, as an aside, if you've been following the development of Project Libitina, you may find a few interesting tidbits in here...
