It's a really good game. In my opinion better than the second one because it has so many more weapons than the second one and also has better enemies. The HECU are a real challenge to fight against unlike the Combine in Half-Life 2 which just stand still.

Black Mesa also exists but it's a known fact that that game is a re-imagining rather than a remake which means that they are basically 2 different games in terms of level design, atmosphere and of course graphics. You should play this one first so you can apreciate the changes made in Black Mesa.

Basically it's a really good first person shooter which holds up well considering the fact it was made in the late 90s.

Despite having 50 hours in this game I've only ever beat it once (most of the time was spent on multiplayer) so when I noticed that I didn't remember ANYTHING from the main game, I decided to give it another playthrough.

Compared to the first one, this one is way more focused on story. A lot of time is not spent in testing chambers, but rather around the whole facility.
The enviroments are rich with soul and personality (or lack there of) and are stunning to look at. Traversing around them feels like you're in a movie and it's exhilarating to find your way out of the situations (they) put you in.
Short version: This is the best looking source game to date.

This game is 100% worth a try if you haven't played it yet. I can recommend it to ANYONE who plays video games.

It takes time to come to terms with loss. In this case it's the time I lost trying to get good at this game.
