Picked this game up for the first time about a day or two ago, and I've barely been able to put it down. It's so incredibly fun, the movement is so finely tuned and expressive that I just wanna keep playing. I think the biggest draw for me is that I dislike going into a room in a game and the game saying "hey, you can't go in here." It grinds my friggin gears. But in this game, that's happened so few times. With a little finesse and some creativity, you can weasel your way up a lot of stuff in the game - or at least it feels like it, which is just as good. Every once in a while you need a new ability to traverse an area, but that just encourages you to go find the next thing you need to get past a roadblock, which usually means a whole new level of expression is about to hit once you start playing with it.

10/10 game and I haven't even finished yet

The last 3 times i tried to play this game, the servers were down. While I cannot blame the devs, there is a wrathful god out there trying to keep me from playing this game I like very much. ♥♥♥♥ you guys, one star until i get to play again

Awesome, fun game that's mechanically deep and interesting, visually stunning, and still being given content and patches to this day. There's solid tutorials and the single player content can be pretty fun, even though its just standard Arcade mode and a few extra-difficult challenges. The community is still pretty alive and well, and tournaments like Mix Masters and Get Gr8 run pretty much every week still.

Getting into the game against others can be rough in 2024 cause of how good most of the players are, but hopping into a discord makes it easier to find others learning the ropes so you can have some fair fights to get a handle of the game's mechanics and everything. 100% worth in my opinion.


Ignore most bad reviews from late 2023 onward, they are mostly left by tourists who don't even play this game and probably couldn't even do a DP input consistently. Censorship is always a difficult thing to handle, but being mad about removing panty shots from canon underage characters isn't the reasonable viewpoint you think it is. Not to mention? There's still basically no censorship. Go do Fillia's LK or J.HK right now, I dare you.

I played this game for a bit, and while i think it's fun I don't think its as comparable to Smash as everyone says it is. The netcode isn't all that much better, I had tons of lag issues while I was playing. On top of that the animations are janky as all ♥♥♥♥ - I saw someone say that they had more impact and flare [sic] to them, which is just blatantly wrong. I don't think they're that bad, they do their job and look half okay, but they really aren't that good either. But watch some clips of Multiversus right next to some clips of smash, and there's honestly no comparison.

The controls are floaty and slow and wonky. I think Smash has been played for so long because to some level, it's always been sort of crisp; like this game feels more floaty than Smash 4, by a lot. Not to mention a lot of buttons have really weird hitboxes, and advance really weird? I felt like I wasn't in complete control of my character the whole time.

Also, ♥♥♥♥ the level system? It sorta sucks to queue up against someone who isn't really better than you, but has played 30 hours longer on their character and has a full perk table. I'm not sure why that's an unlockable feature, and not a loadout based one where everything is unlocked like paladins cards. But this one's definitely a nitpick on my part and not much of a real complaint.

I'm definitely hating a bit but I wanna reiterate that I don't dislike this game. It's decent fun, it's kinda dumb (in a good way) and it is indeed functional as a game. It's free, which is really cool for people who don't wanna throw 319.98 MSRP at a switch and a copy of Ultimate just to have to pay $15 yearly for online that's still decently janky. I personally think this game is gonna fall out of popularity at some point in the near future; everyone's gonna be hype now, but the hype will fade, and the community will grow much smaller as people return to smash or other games. I'd love to be proven wrong but honestly I can't really see this game staying relevant for all that long.

the lobbies aren't good. not yet. but the rest of it is absolutely stellar. gameplay, graphics, it's just a blast to play and the netcode is incredible. just wish it took less time to load into the game, and finding a match was a little bit easier.

♥♥♥♥♥♥ good ♥♥♥♥ dude. combat's wack as hell, but it's not too hard to get a decent hold of and the music is just awesome, the constrobuz beats work very well.

I'm bad but it fun

Haven't played much, and I'm awful at it, but the fighting is really interesting and the characters are all really unique and interesting. It's something that I think will be really fun to sink time into to get good at, so here's hoping that time eventually pays off.
