About Detroit: Become Human

In Detroit: Become Human you'll step foot into a futuristic Detroit, Michigan in the year 2038. At this point in time, artificial intelligence and materials have advanced so much to the point where it's possible to manufacture bipedal robots with an appearance identical to humans for different commercial purposes. Not only do robot exteriors seem human-like, but they also do seem human-like internally; the robots run on "blue blood", have a beating heart, lungs, and many more features resembling a real live human. In this world, it's really hard to distinguish robots from humans. You'll encounter robots that complete everyday household chores, tend to the ill, clean the streets, satisfy sexual desires and much more including competing in sports. The robots are referred to as androids. The US, China and Russia are the leaders in the android manufacturing race but the robots of each nation have different properties to them - they're not quite exactly made the same way.

In the US, a single company called "CyberLife" manufactures and sells these advanced androids at CyberLife stores for prices varying based on the purpose of the android companion. When the androids were engineered, an engineer disregarded a production error in the software of the robots.

You see...let me explain the error to you like this: Emotion. Do you consider emotion an error? To you it may be a natural phenomena but to CyberLife, it is a security vulnerability that could lead to catastrophic results.

CyberLife robots were supposed to be designed as emotionless machines...

But, hypothetically speaking, what happens if robots can feel emotion? What if...they have a mind of their own? What do the robots do in that case? Do they continue serving their masters or...

Play the game in the perspective of three CyberLife androids - Connor, Kara and Markus, and shape your story in this choices-matter game to find out! Pave the way to decide if robots are just machines or if they're more than that!


My Review of Detroit: Become Human

Detroit: Become Human is a brilliant choices-matter game that touches on the subject of emotion and consciousness in robots. The game unveils the story of a troubling situation that is likely for us to all experience at some point in the future. As the player controlling the androids, we can either make the androids remain machines or make them choose their own path.

On my first playthrough, I mainly accomplished what I intended to, I rarely messed up at some minor scenes but in the end, I saw the ending that I desired and it was ultimately very satisfying for me to witness.

The first ending I saw: Connor's mission to neutralize Markus fails, Kara and Alice are saved, Luther and Markus are alive, North and the other black guy is dead, and Markus leads the way into a civil war and revolution for the freedom and civil rights for robots.

I mostly connected with Kara out of the trio. Not a huge fan of the other two.

There's so many different routes and extras to unlock in this game that I'll definitely do more playthroughs where I take different approaches!

Overall, spectacular product! It's so well optimized that my gaming laptop, which tends to overheat in these sort of games with high graphics, did not heat much! Well done to the software engineers! This is also a game where you truly forget what reality is - the graphics are a reflection of the real world!

About Banana

I must have been living under a rock most of this year because I have been active for most of the year but just noticed Banana recently.

I've done a lot of research on Banana, it seems Banana peaked in popularity in the Summer of 2024 and a lot of people including notable social media influencers have criticized Banana, calling it a scam. Personally, I don't agree with the notion that Banana is a scam, because the drop system seems to function as advertised. If the scam claim was legitimate, surely this game would have been taken down by now and no longer exist.

It's completely normal to often receive a normal banana, common banana and uncommon banana which are all worthless banana drops. Rather than feeling disappointed about earning them, continue playing Banana and stack the bananas you have earned together to create bananas with greater value. Bananas generally have some decent value starting at the Legendary rarity. Banana is all about patience and investing time.

Personally, I like the concept of this game. It feels like mining for valuable cryptocurrencies. Earning these bananas (except for normal) can be a great investment for the long term. Imagine the value that bananas which no longer drop will have in a few years. It'll be greater than its value now.

I have no comments to make about the game itself because it's not really a game. The truth is that Banana is not a game about clicking a banana (even though it offers the feature of clicking a banana); Banana is rather designed as an application meant to be opened every 3 hours so that it can drop you Steam items of differently textured Bananas.

Concerns

I want to share two concerns I have about Banana:

1. Farming Bananas With Bots - There have been rumors spread around that many players constantly run bots to collect bananas. This likely explains why there is a high concurrent player count for a game that is meant to be played for a few seconds every three hours. I have no idea if this is achievable or not, but consider limiting the amount of players associated with the same IP address to 2 or 3, in order to address this issue. If the claim about bots is true, then please put an end to it somehow because those running bots have an unfair advantage over players who do not run bots.

2. Banana Oversaturation - Already, there are lots of different types of bananas. Further banana diversity could maybe leave a negative impact on the value of all bananas (?), I have no idea. I'm not sure how welcoming the community market is towards more bananas right now. Try to lower the amount of new bananas you add every here and then.

Although the price of ANONYMOUS;CODE may be considerably expensive in the year 2024, every dollar paid to this game is worth it - believe me. Just don't pay an absurd amount above 30 USD. In ANONYMOUS;CODE, the Science Adventure series visual novel experience was remastered for the better. The visual novel features dynamic UI animations and countless effects which grasps the attention of the reader into its palms. Without a doubt, ANONYMOUS;CODE is the visual novel in the Science Adventure series with the most effort put into it in the year 2024. The writing quality is through the roof as well. ANONYMOUS;CODE also features English voice acting as well as manga-like scenes, which are two features never seen before in prior Science Adventure series visual novels.

STRONG RECOMMENDATION: Before playing this visual novel, play STEINS;GATE as well as STEINS;GATE 0 as there is an encounter with a STEINS;GATE character and because there are countless mentioned references to concepts touched upon in STEINS;GATE.


I would also less recommend you to play CHAOS;HEAD NOAH, STEINS;GATE: My Darling Embrace, specifically, to read tips regarding RaiNet Kakeru episodes (credit to maximus1323 on Discord for catching the references) and to check out OCCULTIC;NINE before playing as well.

About ANONYMOUS;CODE

Beware! The large paragraph below contains spoilers not that important to know but felt crucial to share for explaining the story.

The story begins in November of the year 2037 in the Nakano ward of Tokyo, Japan,. Third rate hacker and Nakano Symphonies team member Pollon Takaoka lies to his friends Wind and Cross about having a girlfriend. As a result of this decision, Pollon ends up in a predicament in which he comes up with a name for his fake girlfriend and has to wait at a location to go on a date with his supposed girlfriend while being watched by his friends from a distance. As Pollon considers his options of what to do during the wait, coincidentally a girl bumps into Pollon saying that she's here (for the date). She acts like she recognizes Pollon and Pollon addresses her with the fake name he came up with and the girl does not mind. She reads a part of a poem and walks with Pollon to a park in order to blend into a crowd as pretending to be a couple is an easy way to blend in. The girl accepts Pollon's fake name as an alias and says that she was actually waiting for someone who turned out to be Pollon according to an image that flashed into her mind. A bit later, the girl seems distressed and to know of an event that will occur right after. Right after, soldiers surround the two demanding the girl to go with them and Pollon rejects this demand and attempts to escape with the girl because...

Pollon believes that Nakano Symphones is a team of anons that can not sit idly by when someone's in need!

So, in ANONYMOUS;CODE, you will embark on a long adventure with the girl by your side! You can start your adventure by working to figure out why she's being pursued by those soldiers and what's up with these flashes appearing on her mind!

Oh and by the way, Pollon has a unique ability that you can trigger throughout the game, which is Saving and Loading the world. It's reminiscent to time leaping in STEINS;GATE. Using this ability, progressing throughout your adventure should become easier.

Lastly, ANONYMOUS;CODE is linear. It has a common ending as well as a true ending. It is also possible to encounter a total of 19 bad endings throughout your journey to the end though.

My Review of ANONYMOUS;CODE

Before continuing, I want to first note that I experienced ANONYMOUS;CODE using the Committee of Zero fan patch ("ANONYMOUS;CODE Improvement Patch)[sonome.dareno.me] to read more accurate translations.

This is truly a peak visual novel in the Science Adventure series when it comes to the reading experience. I loved this game so much, it feels impossible to dislike it!

Here are some notes I took about the game:

1. The ending to the true route was the cherry on top to this game. If you didn't know, Momo's wish was to join Nakano Symphonies. I was happy to see Momo cross ways with Pollon again after he lost his memories.

2. I loved how in the true route, we could Load Pollon's save files to see how he fixed important events. I loved witnessing characters initially antagonist such as Asuma, and Graham join our side. If you didn't know, Felina and Ewan were isolated and imprisoned, rather than killed. I also loved how we were able to save [Kent] along with Momo.

3. I love the attention to detail in this game. Did you know that there are so many different Pollon voice lines that can be heard if you trigger a Load at the wrong time? And that there are a bunch of optional, bonus hack triggers throughout this game leading to bonus scenes?

4. It was touching to witness Momo accepting herself for who she is, even if she is not a real child of Fatima (Lucia), even if she's not a part of the Earth simulator, & even if she was created by the QCDC in the upper layer, in order to stop the 2038 problem from reoccurring. Seeing her determined to put an end to it, even if the probability is near 0, by overloading the QCDC of the layer we observed, by letting over a billion people connect to Momo to gain sacraments is a strong desire to resolve the Apocalypse ("the end") which is inspiring to me.

5. Another touching part was witnessing Pollon reaching out to us using the Black Knight and vortex coil. It felt refreshing to no longer just observe Pollon for once.

6. I loved the interaction with Amadeus [Kurisu] during the true route as a fan of STEINS;GATE.

If anyone's curious about my ending order, here it is:

Conclusions are just a total of 19 bad endings , so, do your best to get to only the common ending as well as the true ending! However, if you're seeking 100% completion very early in a single playthrough, then use a guide.

For the first time ever, I reached the true ending of a Sci. Adv. series VN before the common ending without knowing how to enter the true ending,yay! I stopped where I was to do the common ending first though, and I'm glad I did, it felt more better and right that way.

My Pain Points About ANONYMOUS;CODE

1. In order to view a movie shown within the first 10 minutes of my gameplay, I had to change my laptop's NVIDIA GPU settings from integrated to dedicated. Thanks to lux0k on Discord for assisting me with this issue.

2. The particle effects (dust, rain and snow) need optimization, they can lag the game, at least in my experience as a RTX 3050 Ti GPU user. But please do not remove them in future entries, they were nice immersive touches well depicting the world environment at that moment!

3. The biggest cause for most of my conclusions was that I did not trigger loads at the very right line even though I knew I had to do a trigger around the right moment. Please allow triggers to work some few sentences before and after the required line as well! So, don't just limit it to a single line!

The pros of this game outweigh the cons by miles, so I am glad I worked as Anon for Pollon. Nakano Symphonies FTW!

Buy this game when it's on sale because it's not bad, however it's quite buggy in its current state (October 2024 version).

ROBOTICS;NOTES DaSH is the canonical sequel to ROBOTICS;NOTES ELITE. Before playing ROBOTICS;NOTES DaSH, I STRONGLY recommend you to:

1. Obviously play ROBOTICS;NOTES ELITE first. It isn't necessary as this game summarizes characters and important events which took place in ROBOTICS;NOTES ELITE in just a few sentences, but I wouldn't recommend relying on the short summaries as not all events are mentioned and as the summaries condense the events so much that they leave out important context (plot development) leading up to the events.

2. Play STEINS;GATE as well as STEINS;GATE 0. The main character of this story - Itaru/Daru, is from the STEINS;GATE series. As such, I would recommend you to play STEINS;GATE which is the main game as well as STEINS;GATE 0 which is the canonical sequel to STEINS;GATE. Throughout this game, the STEINS;GATE series is very often referenced. You're going to especially notice STEINS;GATE references through Twipo, which you may recall was a PokeCom app in the ROBOTICS;NOTES universe. Playing STEINS;GATE and STEINS;GATE 0 is not necessary, events from the series are summarized as well, but I do not recommend relying on the summaries for the same reasons mentioned in number one.


As extra, in order for you to catch every reference mentioned throughout the game, I would less strongly recommend you to play CHAOS;HEAD NOAH and CHAOS;CHILD before playing ROBOTICS;NOTES DaSH as well. I have also heard that there are OCCULTIC;NINE references in this game as well, so, feel free to check O;N out as well. I don't know for myself as I haven't checked O;N yet.

About ROBOTICS;NOTES DaSH

Set half a year following the events of ROBOTICS;NOTES ELITE - Kai, the protagonist you may recall from ROBOTICS;NOTES ELITE, has been preparing outside of Tanegashima for college entrance exams as he intends on becoming an astronaut in the future and decides to visit Tanegashima for a Summer break. He travels by ferry and the friends he made from when he was a part of his high school Robotics Club, come to see his arrival. At the same time, Nae, who was also at the port, greets another arriver and older friend of hers named Daru who rode the same ferry as Kai. Through Nae, Daru is introduced to Kai and his friends. Daru has come for undisclosed reasons. Coincidentally, around this time, on Tanegashima island, preparation has undergone for a Summer festival which will last for two weeks in the form of two phases, each phase being a week long. Most members of the Robotics Club are voluntarily preparing the festival. Daru wants to stay for the duration of the festival.

On the first day of the festival, Kimijima Kou - the antagonist you may recall from ROBOTICS;NOTES ELITE, makes a grand surprise return through unknown means. For some reason, Kou seems a bit out of character, but he challenges the Robotics Club to find geotags he has scattered around Tanegashima island before he makes a world takeover. As all other club members have enough on their plates due to festival work, Daru and Kai collaborate to find the geotags required to put an end to Kou's scheme.

Throughout ROBOTICS;NOTES DaSH, you will mainly be playing in the perspective as Kai and Daru, gaining access to their PokeComs, and ROBOTICS;NOTES DaSH will provide some proper closure to some topics that were touched upon in ROBOTICS;NOTES ELITE.

ROBOTICS;NOTES DaSH is not linear unlike ROBOTICS;NOTES ELITE as you could finish the game anyway you want earlier than the last two phases.

My Review of ROBOTICS;NOTES DaSH

Mekkarimousan!

Before anything, I would like to note that I experienced ROBOTICS;NOTES DaSH using the Committee of Zero fan patch ("ROBOTICS;NOTES DaSH Steam Patch") to read more accurate translations and for an overall more optimal experience. [sonome.dareno.me]

This game is pretty much Daru doing shenanigans during the second half (gun phase) of the festival. It's like a mostly playful, pervertted break from Yuki-tan and Suzuha-san, don't you think? The atmosphere that this game emits is just playful akin to the more serious tones in most other Science Adventure series canonical entries. That's the best way I could describe this game, because, once you find Kou's geotags, figure out what caused his appearances (the electromagnetic wave irradiation equipment) and put an end to Kou, Daru is pretty much free to do as he pleases.

I followed the Committee of Zero's walkthrough guide and followed their suggested ending order[sonome.dareno.me] and I have to got to say, ending order isn't really that important in this game.

Ideally, for the non-hidden/extra endings (the first 5 endings you can get), ko-demire:

1. What you should do is get the common route ending first (Airi/Mesopause Converter)

2. Whatever you want in between in all honesty

3. And the Nae ending last (Ionopause Thermistor)

If I did my ending order my way, I would have done Airi<Junna<Subaru<Frau<Nae just because of the characters I like more.

Yuki-tan, Suzuha-san, and others from the STEINS;GATE series were teased so much in this game! I wish we saw all the family photos Daru showed to the ROBOTICS;NOTES cast! I really wish we saw them during this game but I hope that in the future, the ROBOTICS;NOTES cast will come across and meet the rest of the STEINS;GATE cast someday as suggested by the ends of the last two phases.

I LOVED reading the resolve of:
- Subaru and his father's relationship
- Akiho & Misa-nee's relationship
- Akiho & Kai's relationship
- Junna's inconfidence and shyness issue
- Kimijima Kou's reappearances


I also loved the bonus movie we get at the end. ;)

My Pain Points About ROBOTICS;NOTES DaSH

Oh my god, this game has been sold on Steam for over 4 years and it is so buggy! Please address these issues, they are so serious that they ruin the overall gaming experience! The bugs tested my patience with this game!

1. The game often crashes.

2. The game often shows a black screen during scene changes which does not go away.

I had to frequently save for a speedy recovery which I did not enjoy doing at all.

3. Areas of character sprites may spasm at times at certain scenes. For instance: Frau's hair in her route at her house, Airi's hair in the lecture room, Airi's hair looking at Mr. Pleiades on stage, Misa-nee's dress in the last phase at the 100 meter point.

4. I didn't like the remaster for IRUO. I don't like how we don't just have a view of the screen like how we did in ROBOTICS;NOTES ELITE. I also don't like how the PokeCom tilts when we look around in IRUO now.

5. I'm not a fan of assuming the females around us are perfectly fine with having their outfits changed during the geotag search. There's no way everyone around us was just silent and fine with it! How did no background character react to these changes?!

6. After crashes, the E key used to skip lines can have unintended behavior. The feature can either: work as intended, not work at all as if we're reading lines we've already read for the first time, skip most lines leaving a handful of some not skipable or skip so much ahead as if we've already read lines we have never read before.

7. Tweeping on Twipo and entering keys on a keyboard to execute Kill-Ballad moves made the ROBOTICS;NOTES ELITE experience feel more immersive and engaging. I was really upset to see those two features removed in ROBOTICS;NOTES DaSH.

8. Nae's mouth remains open after speaking on as many occasions as I can remember.

Despite the pain points, I enjoyed the game.

Before anything, for the best experience, I strongly recommend you to play CHAOS;HEAD NOAH before playing this game. CHAOS;HEAD NOAH is the prequel to this game. This game frequently references events and concepts that took place in CHAOS;HEAD NOAH. Second, it's important to note that using the E key to skip lines, just like how you could in CHAOS;HEAD NOAH, is a life saver for those seeking 100% completion!

CHAOS;CHILD is an absolute masterpiece. CHAOS;CHILD is part of the Science Adventure series, and I have got to say, it's one of the best entries in the series. My enjoyment of CHAOS;CHILD exceeded almost all other games in the series I have played up until now. The story is amazing.

CHAOS;CHILD vs. CHAOS;HEAD NOAH

- CHAOS;CHILD is a thematic sequel to CHAOS;HEAD NOAH, which is the first entry in a larger game series known as the Science Adventure Series. CHAOS;CHILD is set 6 years following the events of CHAOS;HEAD NOAH, in 2015, but the story actually begins during the 2009 Shibuya Earthquake that occurred in CHAOS;HEAD NOAH.

- CHAOS;CHILD revolves around a new cast of characters that weren't in CHAOS;HEAD NOAH, however, there are a few characters from CHAOS;HEAD NOAH that make appearances as side characters either through the online world or in person throughout the story.

- Both CHAOS;CHILD and CHAOS;HEAD NOAH take place in Shibuya, however CHAOS;CHILD takes place in different settings within Shibuya.

- The plot in CHAOS;CHILD is completely different than CHAOS;HEAD NOAH.

- There are positive and negative delusion triggers in CHAOS;CHILD just like how there were in CHAOS;HEAD NOAH. It's been completely remastered, and looks so much more beautiful in CHAOS;CHILD. There's also a new type of delusion trigger type that rarely appears called the "More" trigger which is white. Use it and find out what it does, hehehe.

To sum it up: CHAOS;CHILD takes place within the same universe as CHAOS;HEAD NOAH. C;C just takes place 6 years ahead of C;HN and C;C features new characters, settings, a plot and a new delusion trigger type that weren't a part of C;HN.

About CHAOS;CHILD

In CHAOS;CHILD, the New Generation Madness (that you may recall from CHAOS;HEAD NOAH) makes a comeback for a second time in history with....sumo stickers decorated all around parts of Shibuya?! Orphan Hekiho Academy Newspaper Club President Miyashiro Takuru ("Taku") wants to get to the bottom of it and figure out why these gruesome murders have returned. At the same, new gigalomaniacs with the ability to wield Di-Swords (CHAOS;HEAD NOAH references), have returned!

In this story, for some reason, Kurusu Nono - Taku's older stepsister who is also an orphan like Taku and the vice president of the newspaper club, seems to urge Taku to stay away from the investigation of the return of the New Gen Madness. And Taku's memories of his childhood best friend Serika Onoe are... pretty sharp, Taku has so many memories of being with her and Taku knows so much about her, for as long as he can remember...but his knowledge of Serika is just not that sharp for some reason. Play to find out the answers to Kurusu and Serika's mysteries and to unveil the secret behind the return of the New Generation Madness as well as the appearances of these new Gigalomaniacs and the sumo stickers!

My Review of CHAOS;CHILD

First off, I want to note that I experienced CHAOS;CHILD using the Committee of Zero fan patch ("CHAOS;CHILD Improvement Patch") [sonome.dareno.me] in order to read more accurate translations!

Wow, this story is absolutely amazing!

My enjoyment of CHAOS;CHILD was x100 times more than CHAOS;HEAD NOAH. CHAOS;HEAD NOAH failed to keep me hooked for a while, but CHAOS;CHILD had me in its grasp for the entire story.

Not only is the story of CHAOS;CHILD rich, but the shocks/twists hidden inside of it are a lot and they're quite strong! I haven't been this shocked in other Science Adventure series visual novels I have read up until now! Who would have thought that Sakuma (Taku's dad) would be an antagonist and that our own teacher Wakui would be a member of the Committee of 300! And who would have thought that Onoe is just a delusion that Taku created!

It's sad that Taku's wish during the 2009 earthquake was to feel pride by showing the whole world a huge accomplishment (or that he's basically a right-sider for doing something right) so he created Onoe just to accomplish that. It's very sad knowing that Onoe's purpose was to just make that wish of Taku's a dream come true by creating the "game". All of those people died just for Onoe to satisfy Taku.

I have to be honest though, for the first time in a Science Adventure series visual novel, I prefer the common route ending over the true route ending. I honestly prefer being together with Onoe after all we went through, like how it was suggested at the end of the common route ending rather than Taku's preference of a resolution to Onoe's story which is letting her live a normal life (like how he intended when he "ended" "her" with his Di-Sword near the end of the common route ending), acting like he doesn't know Onoe and vise vera, being separated..you know, basically not "clinging to the girl he loves forever", as described by himself.

As much as I loved the common route ending, I also absolutely loved the ending to Nono's route. Seeing her inner identification crisis resolved was an amazing story. I was happy to see Senri accept herself for who she is and atoning for her identity fraud at the end of her route.

Here are some extra notes I took feel free to read them:

- This Science Adventure series entry has a lot of "AHHHHHHHH"-like screams in it, the most I've seen up until now in the series, but that's fine, I love hearing the screams like a psychopath, lmao.
- Arimura is into homosexual male literature. She's into it so badly that it turns her on.
- I loved how Hana's route brought us back together with Takuru from CHAOS;HEAD NOAH.
- Itou and Kurosato-san are so reminiscent to Misumi and Sena Aoi from CHAOS;HEAD NOAH, don't you think?
- The world being both lies and truths such a true quote and lesson from the Arimura route.
- That credit roll before the end of the true route almost had me there, haha, I almost thought the true route ended on a cliff hanger.
- I love the sprite, CG and animation quality in CHAOS;CHILD. It's quite an upgrade compared to the quality that CHAOS;HEAD NOAH had.
- ITOU IS AN ALIEN!!!! IT'S GOT TO BE CANON! THE COMMON ROUTE BAD ENDING IS PROOF! THAT WAS NOT A DELUSION!

1. I loved the TV shutting sound effect that played once a delusion ended in CHAOS;HEAD NOAH, but unfortunately, no sound effect plays in CHAOS;CHILD when a delusion is over. I really wish we had some sort of sound effect that played once the delusion is over.

2. Similar to a pain point I had in CHAOS;HEAD NOAH, I wish we could skip entire chapters after reaching the common route ending of CHAOS;CHILD. This would make it easier to reach chapters about the girls. For instance, if we had to do something in chapter 3 to reach girl A's ending which begins after chapter 6, then allow us to skip chapters 4, 5 and 6 entirely. This would be more convenient and faster than using the E key to skip.

About GRIS

Embark on a short artistic experience as Gris - "a hopeful young girl lost in her own world, dealing with a painful experience", as described by the game description. Throughout this game, you'll navigate a 2D world in which Gris will find the colors of the world which have faded away from her reality. As Gris overcomes her sorrow, you'll unlock abilities enhancing your navigation experience, which are manifested inside of her dress.

The game is in the form of a simplistic platformer, however, this game is all about the visual experience rather than gameplay, story and mechanics.

My Pain Point About GRIS

I only have one pain point which is that I wish it was possible to track the amount of mementos you need in each chapter and checkpoint! Perhaps such a feature could unlock after reaching the end of the game! It would be useful for those seeking 100% completion!

My Overall Thoughts on GRIS

I purchased the game while it was on sale for just about 0.80 USD, and it was the best 80 cents I have ever spent. It was worth every penny. I really admired the artistic depiction and symbolism behind Gris' struggles and her journey to overcome sorrow. The art really left me in awe. Based on the childhood ending, I am assuming that Gris' painful experience was losing her mother. But, I am happy to see that, by the end, she has overcome that pain and moved on.

So, if you're looking to have a break from the games you usually play and just want to admire some art - then this game is for you.

Buy this game while it's on-sale because the full price is just not worth it!

Important Heads Up!

Before anything, I want to mention that Corpse Party 2: Dead Patient just feels like a demo. It's so short in content that you could 100% complete the game the way it currently is in just a few hours. The average player takes an hour or two to reach the good ending. The reason for this is because the game is literally, officially, incomplete. You heard me right. This is a paid, incomplete game. It is still in development as of Fall 2024.

This makes me wonder though...whose idea was it to release the game like this? There's only 1 chapter and 1 extra chapter. This sort of release obviously does not satisfy most of your community. The game is still in development as of 2024, but it seems like there hasn't been any development in years in reality. I'm assuming development on this game was frozen a while ago in order to pursue development on Corpse Party 2: Darkness Distortion which is a game coming out in a month or two that's unrelated to this game but is thematically similar, taking place in a hospital setting just like this game.

I'm hoping when Corpse Party 2: Darkness Distortion releases, it's the full game and not an unfinished game like this. I'm also hoping that once Corpse Party 2: Darkness Distortion releases, development with this game will continue.

About Corpse Party 2: Dead Patient

High schooler Ayame Itou wakes up on a hospital bed with amnesia in Amare Patriarcha Crucis Hospital. She has no idea how she ended up in the hospital and why she suddenly has lost all of her memories up to the point of waking up. The hospital seems abandoned at a first glance but there are what seems to be ghosts as well as soldiers roaming around the hospital...and they don't seem to be friendly.

Ayame's mission is to find the exit of the hospital...but is this story as simple as waking up with amnesia in a hospital building and exiting to the outside world with no care at all? Play to find out!

My Thoughts on the Corpse Party 2: Dead Patient

Usually when I write a review, this section would discuss my final thoughts on the game, but it's really too early for me to craft a conclusion as this game is literally incomplete. Rather, I just want to share what I've understood as the plot in this game. It's just one big spoiler. Please read it after completing the game and let me know what you think.

Ayame Itou suddenly collapses while in class at high school. Her classmates then bring her to the school's nurses office and then to a hospital via ambulance as only medical professionals could address the issue. While Ayame was passed out, an "illness" (probably some sort of curse or dark magic or spell in reality) called the "deathbringer" spreads in the hospital. I wasn't able to catch the source. Meaning, I don't know if somebody random just caught it from somewhere out of thin air and then spreaded it to the hospital or if it was created by the hospital as a sort of bioweapon and that hospital staff are testing it inside of the hospital. All we know is that the deathbringer made its way inside of the hospital and began to spread. Judging by Ritsuko's memory of a mother going berserk by murdering her child and then taking her own life, and then her child coming back to life at the end, we can assume that either the berserk mother or the child that came back to life was probably the first or among the first infected with deathbringer. As deathbringer began to spread, the hospital decided to lock itself down in order to prevent word of this new disease (or "scandal" as described by Ritsuko) from spreading. This would explain why TV works inside of the hospital but phone reception does not. Whoever was pulling the strings decided to equip hospital staff with military-like uniforms and make the soldier-like staff quarantine the non-infected and eliminate the infected. This would explain why survivors seem to be forced into hospital rooms and why the soldier-like medical staff mention areas being cleared. The string puller also likely ordered non-infected patients to lose their memories in order to prevent word of the disease from spreading. However, judging by other non-infected characters we meet, it seems that this order was not fully enforced (perhaps it was just being enforced by the time Ayame woke up) or that there could be some deeper unknown reason we have yet to discover. Maybe such another reason could be as simple as that Ayame had died and because she had died, she lost her memories. Because after all, the ending suggests that when Ayame collapsed at school...she actually died. When she woke up, she was likely infected with the deathbringer illness that brought "her back to life". It would explain why she was restrained on her hospital bed. If such as a reason is the case, then I also want to add that it is likely that Ritsuko had died, lost her memories and was brought back to life thanks to deathbringer as well because of Ritsuko's reaction to learning Ayame being an amnesiac as well as because of Masami's "dead patient" comment at the end towards both Ayame and Ritsuko. By the way, because of the ending, I also have a strong feeling that the string puller I mentioned earlier or basically the person who caused all of this is likely Masami - Ritsuko's boyfriend, or it could be Ayumi Shinozaki, who we saw at the prologue. It wouldn't be the first time Shinozaki has attempted to bring someone back from the dead (remember the end of Corpse Party: Book of Shadows!). Maybe Shinozaki's depressed as this time she succeeded in bringing someone back from the dead but it went a bit unexpectedly wrong so she's keeping it a secret. Who knows!

I don't know. From what it seems though, whatever deahtbringer is, it can bring the dead back to life. And from what I can tell, this hospital isn't in some sort of cursed parallel world/dimension like Heavenly Host from Corpse Party 1 was; it seems that these bizarre events taking place in Amare Patriarcha Crucis Hospital are in our real world at real time.


What I Like About Corpse Party 2: Dead Patient

In this section, I just want to discuss what I think Team GrisGris has improved on after Corpse Party: Blood Drive.

1. I love that we can run a little more! The stamina is fair! In CP: BD, our stamina was so low that running was a pain! I'm glad that pain point is addressed in this game!

2. It might just be me, but I love the smooth gameplay! The game feels quite smoother to play in comparison to CP:BD!

3. I love how some characters we meet for the first time in this game are connected to Corpse Party 1 characters For example, in the extra chapter, you'll meet Morshige's dad who is a doctor!

My Pain Points For Corpse Party 2: Dead Patient

1. Lack of voice acting!!! There's full voice acting for insignificant side characters in this game but no voice acting for the important main characters? What??? CP:BD has a voice acting issue as well! Why haven't you learned Team GrisGris!!! ):<<<

2. Hospital staff soldier hitboxes are a pain! They can hit you at a somewhat far distance! It needs a little nerfing!

3. In order to go full screen, I had to go to config in the game files. Why not allow the game to go full screen when alt + enter is inputted on a keyboard?

Anyways, I just hope that development on this game continues soon, I cannot wait to continue playing, I love what it has so far!

STRONG RECOMMENDATION BEFORE PLAYING: ROBOTICS;NOTES ELITE is the third entry in a visual novel game series known as the "Science Adventure" series. ROBOTICS;NOTES ELITE often references predecessor entries throughout the story! Because of this, I HIGHLY recommend you to play CHAOS;HEAD NOAH and then STEINS;GATE before playing ROBOTICS;NOTES ELITE! It's not necessary, YOU DON'T HAVE TO, HOWEVER, if you do, you will enjoy reading ROBOTICS;NOTES ELITE so much more and better understand countless references mentioned throughout the story, so, be sure to play those two games before this one for the best experience!

About ROBOTICS;NOTES ELITE

Behold and enter a world where there was a boom in popularity for the field of robotics! As a result of this boom in interest, many companies around the world have developed robots for mankind to use for various useful purposes (i.e. for medical applications)! Amidst the robotics boom, Tanegashima island residents Misaki Senomiya and her younger sister Akiho Senomiya develop a passionate interest for robotics, especially from watching a lot of mecha anime! As a result of her strong passion for robots, while studying in high school, Misaki forms what is known as the modern day "Robotics Club" at Chuo Tanegashima High School! Misaki develops a small-sized hobby robot known as the TanegashiMachine 3 and enters it into a fighting tournament for robots known as "ROBO-ONE". The hobby robot wins the tournament and Misaki's ambitions grow in size. Misaki then dreams of building a giant sized-robot and even begins development on it at an abandoned hangar, but suspiciously, Misaki suddenly ceases its development at around 70% and Misaki loses all of her love and interest in robots and moves out of the island to Tokyo to work as the PR person at the company ExCo, which specializes in developing robots for medical applications known as "HUG"s. One of Misaki's childhood friends - Mizuka, is an active user of a HUG. Mizuka has worn a HUG around her waist ever since she had an accident that yielded her handicapped.

"Why did Misaki suddenly lose her interest for robots?" you may wonder. Well, that's your call to play and figure out for yourself! However, throughout ROBOTICS;NOTES ELITE, you'll begin playing in the year 2019, which is 9 years after Misaki's departure from Tanegashima to Tokyo, and you'll be playing as Akiho and Kai during Akiho and Kai's mid high school years. Akiho is now the president of the Robotics Club which at the time has 2 members - herself and Kai. Akiho is still passionate as ever for robots, and dreams to build a giant sized robot just like how her older sister used to dream of. In fact, Akiho wishes to continue the legacy (giant sized robot work) that her sister left off at and wishes to showcase it at a huge robotics event at Tokyo known as the "Tokyo Expo 2020"! She's quite attached to her sister's legacy. This is how she describes it:

"GunBuild-1 (her older sister's legacy) was the recrystallization of the robotic club alumnis sweat and tears."

Throughout this story, with Kai, who is a fellow Tanegashima islander the same age as Akiho and also somebody who loves a video game called "Kill-Ballad", Akiho will work to make her dreams come true.

However, it turns out that dreams are easier said than done. Is this story really as simple and short as working together to build your dream robot or are there deep rabbit holes waiting to be discovered such as funds that need to be earned for robot building, AR secrets, human experimentation, Committee of 300 schemes and more? I mean, you should at least consider that 2 people might not be enough to build a giant robot. Or is it? Play to find out!

Also, many people say the ROBOTICS;NOTES ELITE story is linear. Yes, it's technically true, the story begins at point A and ends at a later point B. But, you don't have to necessarily experience it completely linearly, chapter by chapter. ROBOTICS;NOTES ELITE has 12 chapters known as "phases". After phase 5, you can skip up to 2 phases and make it to phase 8 which is exactly what I experienced on my first playthrough of phase 5. Would you call this linear? When this happened, I loved it but I was really confused because phase 8 references objects and events from phases 6 and 7. Plus, the time and outfits characters wear in phase 8 are completely different than phase 5. After completing phase 8, I had to complete phases 6 and 7 in order to unlock phase 9. This long possible jump ahead and then back in phases is not linear. So, it's possible to not completely linearly finish this game.

My Review of ROBOTICS;NOTES ELITE

Ojarimouse!

First and foremost, I want to note that I played using the Committee of Zero fan patch ("ROBOTICS;NOTES ELITE Steam Patch")[sonome.dareno.me] in order to read more accurate translations.

I absolutely loved this story. The story itself is on the same level as STEINS;GATE which is high quality story-telling that I really admire. Not only that, but it's absolutely visually stunning. I was in shock when I saw how beautiful the art was. Similar to how I felt playing STEINS;GATE, during the first few chapters of this game, I wasn't enjoying the story that much at first, but once I got to the mid chapters and especially the last few chapters, that impression faded away. I eventually became hooked to the game. To put it like Kai: My enjoyment was initially 3:7 and then went up to 9:1...even though some club members have personality issues. ;)

I also loved how there were so many twists (true identity reveals and true intention reveals) as well, it's as much or maybe even more than the amount of twists in CHAOS;HEAD NOAH. Speaking of CHAOS; HEAD NOAH, I'd never imagine I'd see this day where I'd meet someone more anti-social than Taku *coughs* Junna. Oh and also, I want to ship Frau to STEINS;GATE's Daru, they'd be the perfect couple! Just imagine what kind of eroge it would be! Duhuhu...

I found the D section on Twipo to be absolutely brilliant, well done with what you did with that, devs!

I must admit that Junna's constant whines and cries can get annoying, and I especially felt fed up with her towards the end but seeing her become confident and stop with that at the end made me relieved. I began liking her (the least likable character in my opinion) during her end where she makes up with her grandfather - doc.

Most importantly, I loved the ending. Seeing everyone (including the school VP and Subaru's dad) stay by the Robotics Club's side, witnessing Akiho's dream (Super GunBuild-1!) come to life and seeing everyone's hatred and prejudice towards the Gunvarrel anime fade around the world was absolutely touching. I was glad we saved Misa-nee from Kimijima's curse (grip) and saw Misa-nee not be dead at the end. I really wish Mizuka had made it to the end to witness this beautiful ending.

Speaking of endings, this was my ending order

- Maguyan sounds like Shogun from CHAOS;HEAD NOAH, anyone else noticed that?
- Had to play the game from the beginning for phase 7, what a pain, I couldn't have reached 7 without a guide. It was worth it though. I could have just started from phase 4. My fault.
- Loved the credit roll accompanied by the beautiful song, wonderful way to end the game!

This story will make ANYONE fall in love with robots! Triple A mecha anime VN!

Before anything, if you intend to play this game and 100% complete it, keep in mind that pressing the "E" key on a PC keyboard will save your life by skipping so many lines so quickly!

About CHAOS;HEAD NOAH

The first entry in the beloved Science Adventure series, CHAOS;HEAD NOAH is about a male second year high school student named "Takumi Nishijo" (or Taku for short) who has the unique ability to see his surroundings more positively and negatively - this is called a delusion. Throughout this game, you'll be able to decide whether the delusions Taku will see is sweet or sour. In Takumi's world, a series of murders have begun to occur called the NewGen murders. Taku is a shut in, introverted hardcore Otaku and gamer who just loves to fantasize about the world of 2D and video games all day, and because of his lifestyle and hobbies, he often joins chatrooms. In such chatrooms, he encounters users who send him images relating to the NewGen murders. One way or another, this causes Taku to get involved with the NewGen murders. At the same time, all of a sudden, someday, a suspicious girl enters Taku's life. Taku first meets her in front of a grusesome NewGen murder scene and then at school. Oddly, apparently Taku and the girl were always best friends at school yet, Taku has no memory of her being his best friend...Lastly, throughout this story, Taku will often encounter an odd question that he doesn't understand as well as large swords held by some people that only he seems to notice .

Will Taku uncover his relation to the NewGen murders, figure out who and why the suspicious girl that he has no memory of has entered his life and learn what's the deal with the weird question and the swords he's been noticing lately? Play to find out!

My Review of CHAOS;HEAD NOAH

Well, first off, I'd like to note that I had played using the fan patch (Committee of Zero's overhaul patch) for a better experience.[sonome.dareno.me] This includes more accurate translation. Anyways...

Honestly, CHAOS;HEAD NOAH is an absolutely beautiful story. All confusion and questions the player may have in their mind begins to be answered at Chapter 9. Up until that point, I didn't really like Taku, probably because he stutters so much and I can't relate or connect to him that well as he's somebody so introvertted, into 2D female figurines and enjoys genres of video games that I don't enjoy at all. However, you have to fully play the game in order to begin to like CHAOS;HEAD NOAH and especially Taku in particular as a character. Seeing the common ending - "Silent Sky", isn't really the most happiest way to end this story. Working to reach the "Blue Sky" ending should be your goal as I consider it to be the true ending of the story as well as one that makes the most sense for Rimi and Taku.

The story has many twists - I did not see all of it coming! For example, I did NOT see nurse Hazuki being Grimm coming! These sort of shocking identity revelations really caught me off guard, so I loved them!

Ultimately though, I loved the Blue Sky ending, it made me smile and tear up. Amazing way to end the story.


My Painpoints for CHAOS;HEAD NOAH

I do have a few painpoints to share.

1. The lack of BGM, especially inside of Taku's container. The frequent lack of music at times can bore, fatigue and make the player sleepy. I know that Taku's container has some sort of static or raindropy noise running in the background, but it's just not enough to keep me awake and active while reading inside of the container and other places lacking noise. So, I wish there was more music playing throughout the story.

2. After obtaining the common ending, please, introduce the feature to let us skip entire chapters while doing another playthrough. It would be more faster and convenient than the "E" key (skip mode). This would have been really useful for obtaining other endings.

3. I am not the biggest fan of the sprite and animation quality. It's good but not good enough.

About STEINS;GATE 0

Although this game may seem quite depressing at a first impression - it's not as dark as it may seem and I can say without doubt that STEINS;GATE 0 is one of the best science fiction visual novels ever written. As the game description states, it is the sequel to STEINS;GATE. The game is entirely based on a different version of the true ending to STEINS;GATE, so if you haven't already, play STEINS;GATE first! If you haven't completed STEINS;GATE, stop reading my review, because it contains STEINS;GATE spoilers.

In STEINS;GATE 0, you'll truly realize the importance of reaching the STEINS;GATE and learn about the origin of the term "deceive". If you remember, at the end of the true route of STEINS;GATE, Okabe received a video file of himself mentioning the term. In STEINS;GATE 0, you'll see the long term results of Okabe refusing to attempt to undo Kurisu's murder. Throughout STEINS;GATE 0, you'll witness a depressed, hopeless Okabe who wants to forget everything he did as Kyouma. Okabe will often refer to his time as Kyouma as his "dark history" or his "dark past".

Without Kurisu, Okabe is now residing in the Beta worldline with an alive Mayuri. He is no longer living in the Alpha worldline, in which he came from. Okabe wishes to live a peaceful future without Kurisu, but unfortunately, just six months later after he makes his decision to leave Kurisu dead, fate decided to have other plans in store for Okabe. Okabe is introduced to new characters. A few of these new characters have developed AI technology that uses memories that were given to the AI by humans at a specific date. Using those memories, the AI can be like the human up to the latest memory. Kurisu is one of the developers of the AI. Kurisu offered her memories to it at some point and subsequently created a variant of the AI called "Amadeus [Kurisu]" which is basically an AI Kurisu. Fate brings the living AI creators and Okabe together, and Okabe becomes a tester of the AI. Thanks to this, he is now able to interact with an AI Kurisu. Is the privilege of being an AI tester a blessing or a regrettable curse? Read this story to find out!

STEINS;GATE 0 vs. STEINS;GATE

Just like in STEINS;GATE, there are multiple endings in STEINS;GATE 0. Unlike in STEINS;GATE where D-mailing led to route splits, in STEINS;GATE 0 certain calls lead to route splits.

There's a total of 7 new characters in STEINS;GATE 0 that weren't in STEINS'GATE! One of them was referenced before STEINS;GATE 0 and the other debuted in a spin-off game called STEINS;GATE: My Darling's Embrace which released after STEINS;GATE but before STEINS;GATE 0!

For the first time ever, you'll notice others experiencing Reading Steiner!

Unlike STEINS;GATE, the game isn't entirely first person. Throughout the game, the narrative kind of switches between the perspectives of different characters like how it did in STEINS;GATE: Linear Bounded Phenogram and there is third person narration often at times (especially when we're seeing through another character's eyes).

Remember SERN from STEINS;GATE? Well, they're not the organization you have to fear for in STEINS;GATE 0...there are now other organizations to fear! And remember the WW3 threat in STEINS;GATE? Well, you should add an information extraction war to it.

The visual novel experience has really improved in STEINS;GATE 0! Here are some new features that weren't available in previous STEINS;GATE titles:

1. You can now see sprites of the backs of characters!
2. You can now edit the volume of characters individually. I really felt the need for this sort of feature in spin-off games, I'm glad it made its way to this game.
3. Sprite, map/background and animation quality has significantly improved!
4. Characters now use smartphones with a built in messaging system similar to modern day popular messaging apps.

My Review of STEINS;GATE 0

This game had me in tears from beginning to end! I cried so much! I cried more than I did in any other STEINS;GATE game! It's just so beautifully written and illustrated! Not a lot of series succeed at introducing lots of new characters in a further entry and gaining the admiration of its base, but STEINS;GATE 0 succeeded! I was so attached to all of the new characters - both good and bad! I loved everyone who was new! I absolutely loved all 5 good endings as well!

Most importantly, I loved the true ending. It was the best way to end this depressive story. Well done!

If anyone's curious about the order I received my endings. Here it is:

5. Kagari (intentionally did it before True End)
6. True End

If you ask me what the ideal ending order should be, it should be:

I think that would be a more ideal way to experience this visual novel, because getting the True End last for me required me to skip so many chapters I had already read. As extra, feel free to read these notes I took:

- I felt bad for Suzuha for not knowing what a party was since she came from wartime...
- Mayuri's last message to Okabe in her ending route had me in tears!
- Loved Mayuri's ending, I just loved how Okabe regained his confidence. I hope Mayuri slaps him really hard in the past and helps him open the STEINS;GATE!
- If you get good endings you'll see how a hopeless. depressed and exhausted Okabe regains his motivation and life and becomes Hououin Kyouma again. Hearing him say who he was in front of attack helicopters and soldiers was the bravest and best thing ever!
- This is kind of a cool and cute Easter egg I encountered: During the Christmas party, you can call Amadeus twice. She'll wish you a Merry Christmas!
- I was sobbing so much during the "dream" with Kurisu...
- I loved hearing Kaede play Turkish March as a Turk.
- I like how app position changes with wallpaper
- I found Kagari's stories quite interesting. Whoever came up with the story ideas for Kagari was very creative!
- I loved all the RINE stickers! I wish they were all sold on the Steam Points Shop!

Most importantly, at the end of this game, I realized how valuable Makise Kurisu is to us as a friend and scientist. Uncovering her knowledge is like uncovering Pandora's Box!
