Get your friends and play Crawl with them. Make new friends and play Crawl with them. If people come to your home and you do not play Crawl with them, you will have failed each other on a deeply personal level. This game is amazing. Play it against bots if you have to. The sense of overwhelming tension and the nimble responsiveness of the action already set this game above most other 2D dungeon crawlers, but the attention to detail and tightly-balanced leveling system mean that in Crawl, it's even fun losing.
