This is easily one of the best indies I've ever played, mostly for how short it is. The gun play is VERY satisfying, the environments are dizzying, the world is BIZARRE and captivating, and the "paranormal" moments get progressively chilling. Not one of these elements overstays its welcome, leaving me both sated AND craving more. A future "Hole 2" with more areas, weapons, and varied objectives, (and steam achievements!!!) would be incredible, and I'll singlehandedly fund it by gifting this game to anyone and everyone

Much like the widely loved original game, Nirvana Initiative lands a "eureka" twist that had me pacing back and forth in my kitchen. However, unlike the original game - where everything prior to that twist was a sprawling, nail-biting thriller - this games story is made somewhat nauseating by the invisible twist reaching back and influencing your experience. The new characters are hard to connect with, it's hard to tell what's a plot hole and what's just odd occurrence #37. As a result, AINI is probably a better game to replay than just play. Regardless, anyone who connected with this world and its characters should see this sequel through.

The elements that differentiate Below Zero from the original Subnautica are inextricably chained together. If any one of those links breaks, the rest of the chain is worse off. Those satisfied with this game will come out of it appreciating how the smaller map, the more involved story, and the sense of mastering the planet instead of just escaping it come together to make their second trip to 4546B unique from the first. This expansion isn't content with just being "more Subnautica" with diminishing returns, and I appreciate that.

In just a few hours, this game from 1998 - six YEARS before I was even born - manages to cram in more memorable set pieces and unique challenges than most modern games manage to do in 50+ hours. Nothing beats a lean, intentionally crafted and FUN experience like this. Solid 9/10 (so long as you ignore Gonarch's Lair) and a must-play for anyone within this hobby

It's like sorting YIAY comments by most recent and seeing a bunch of 12 year olds using the same 3 jokes over and over again. And then they get booed and tomatoed. 10/10 game.

Sea of Thieves feels like an experience first, and a game second. Individual moments and memories quickly become the most valuable reward. I highly recommend getting 1-3 friends together and just playing this game. It's a pretty miserable solo experience, though. Be warned!
