Game has a steepish learning curve, if you do not learn from your mistakes you will suffer.
If you don't like KCDs save system, you likely won't like this one.
If you don't like Rogue-likes (not lites) you might struggle as there is no meta progression other than knowledge between deaths, and you will die regularly while learning. Just drop a sleep save before doing anything major and proceed to learn through "!FUN!"

Game is quite good and still being updated fairly regularly with several skill trees still planned. I came in blind after not playing for several patches and there have been no insurmountable challenges thus far on my RTR update run. You just have to use your brain, your equipment, and know when to run and regroup.
Very rarely can you overprepare.

I was so immersed in the world that I forgot to turn motion blur off for the first ~30 hours.

There is a legitimately cool game in here underneath all the bugs. Don't buy it if it's not heavily discounted.
