Yes it's true.. The game is awesome!

..idk what they were expecting, but this game was made to be what it is, and hit the mark exactly! It's great!

If you're reading the bad reviews - check to see if they managed to beat the game, or if they are just raging.
Everybody thinks they have a point to make when they're angry. It's sad to see so many bad players blaming their lack of skills on the game. A game that was made to be this way on purpose. It's actually easier than Getting Over It, it's just not the same game mechanics at all.

Having said that, if you want a game to make you feel good about yourself, don't buy this game - this won't be handing you any free wins - you will have to earn it. Took me 2 hours in 2 different sessions. Now I feel like I can beat it in 10 mins since I learned many techniques along the way. I'm curious to see how the speedruns are doing...
If YOU want to feel good about your accomplishment, then DO buy the game. You will have earned it ;)

Is this a "copy"/sequel/cheap knockoff? - Maybe..? does it matter? I wish Getting Over It had more maps, and this is basically what I've wanted in some form or another.
It's clearly playing on the hype that Getting Over It got, but that just makes me wish I thought of this idea first :P
I beat both Getting Over It and Golfing Over it. Bennett Foddy's game took me 6 hours first try, while Alva Majo's took me 2. Golfing Over It is much more forgiving with the teleporting Magic Man.
Golfing Over It has a very similar concept and design, which can seem insulting to some people.
However I find it amazing how Golfing Over It has similar mechanics (simple controls the player must master to overcome obstacles) but is somehow a vastly different game experience.

If you enjoyed Getting Over It, you will enjoy this game. Though you should keep in mind that they are NOT the same game, and whatever you learned from Getting Over It will NOT apply to this game (mostly). You're starting from scratch, just like when you played Getting Over It for the first time.

If you never played Getting Over It, this is like an easier game of the same type. If you want to get into that sort of game, this is a good starting place. Just take it one step at a time ;) Combo jumps can help you land more softly, or get over higher obstacles, or cover large distances. But Don't bite off more than you can chew!


Great price, great game mechanics, good gameplay, silly anime animals, cheap take on Getting Over It's hype but who could blame them for it. Getting Over It + Golf = a great idea.
Just like with Getting Over It, I had so much fun that I will be creating mods for this game. (mods that make it easier, harder, more fun for everyone)
