You NEED it if you are serious about this game. The new characters it has especially Dan and Tala are game changer.

The game may not have been everyone's favorite due to the ridiculous price when it's first released in 2020, but the amount of effort they put into it is solid, graphic, story, designs, they are all amazing.
Now it's 1/15 of the price compare to when it's first released, get it before it's permanently removed from store in 4 days or you just might regret it for the rest of your life, literally

Current state of the game sucks. Poor optimization, no story, cant choose mission, can only match in 16-players mission.

Massive party size severely impacts gaming experience: other people finishing objectives and killing bugs with or without you making you feel less involved in the game and less enjoyable as well as messing up your learning curve of this game; everyone blowing stuffs up creating smoke everywhere, you cant see ♥♥♥♥ and making your game lag.
It pains me to leave a negative review as a starship trooper fan on a long-anticipated game but unless they make 4 or less party size missions in the future, this thumb down is gonna stay

Feels just like hunting monsters in a world

As someone who barely play any JRPG, I find this game quite addictive

The effort they put into a FREE PVE GAME is absolutely admirable, not to mention that it seems to be a well balanced legit f2p game, made purely out of a dream, passion and heart. Despite what is happening to Ukraine, a game this beautiful can still come out amidst the destruction. You have my deepest respect developers.

Genshin players look here
Pros:
- Much easier exploration, no puzzles(so far)
- Better motivation to do exploration, chest rewards gives pulls directly
- Made for coop, encourages coop. No matter what you do, explore, event, domains, coop are available will make things easier and more interesting

Cons:
- made by Tencent
- Divided to dozens of server, instead of just one regional server like Genshin. You might want to ask your friend which server he's in before creating your character.
- game difficulty is higher than Genshin. So compare to pulling characters in Genshin, you'd be more concerned with their combat performance over waifu reasons.
- Element types are strictly separated. There's no reaction or resonance between different element type of characters. Unless you are a whale, you can only afford to invest in one element type and stick to it.
- less f2p-friendly
- Too reliant on multiplayers. All important contents are impossible to solo. YOU CAN'T GET ANYTHING DONE PLAYING SOLO(except story and exploration EDIT: in the new area even exploration requires a battalion of firepower to get to the loots).
- Character design, personality, background, story etc. is not as impressive as Genshin. (But to be fair Genshin is pretty high bar)
EDIT: Conclusions after playing for 3 months:
This game is much harder, much more hardcore than Genshin and requires much more time investment. If you want casual gameplay and simply want to find more content to play, look away ToF is not for you. If you think Genshin is boring, too easy, not competitive and not enough stuffs for you to farm, then hop right in.
I cannot stress enough how much this game relies on multiplayer. If you want to play it right, you need to find groups of hardcore players and team up regularly.
If you dont have a constant supply of hardcore friends, you might ended up having to give up rewarding weekly contents because you cant find anyone in matching or matching takes unacceptably long time(much less numbers of players in this game compare to Genshin and the separated servers makes things even worse).

PS:
Don't even try to start arguing with me that this is not a Tencent game. Hotta and Perfect World belongs to Tencent. Yes, yes, they do, it's a fact. Tencent is the 5th richest company on this planet so don't be surprised that it owns everything. You can literally find the word "Tencent" in it's game files.

Great game, could be better with coop since the mechanism is already there, 3 npc following u every battle.
Though I can see why that might not be a good idea
