I wholeheartedly recommend this game to everyone, wanting to get a good old apocalyptic experience and feel the dread of a nuclear devastation.
It's a very atmospheric game, and people working on the environment and design have done an amazing job!

With that said, I do not stand behind Bethesda's decisions and practices, hence I urge you NOT to buy the game for the full price and even look into the in-game cosmetics store.

But if you will get the game, you will not regret spending your time in it.


Contrary to what many people say, there is a solid main story, but the way it's told is definitely different from a standard "watch a 5 minute trailer explaining what happened and what you're supposed to do" gig. Now it's a bit more clear with the "Wastelanders" update, so you'll definitely have a normal feeling of a questline. So if you're invested in the story, you will have a great time with investigating what happened in Appalachia. (I won't advocate for historical accuracy, but for me it was a very strong and emotional journey)

Like I've mentioned earlier, you don't have to pay a dime to play and enjoy the game in full. Nothing is closed behind a paywall. There is absolutely no need for the new subscription or Repair/Scrap kits, refrigerators and all the other stuff that people are pissed about - that garbage is useless! And if people say otherwise, then they're simply used to purchasing in-game ♥♥♥♥ in other games. Bethesda lied and there is no trust, so we vote with our wallets here - case closed.

I personally hate the fact, that there is a stash/weight limit, because I'm a hoarder by nature, and I'm forced by my own greed for junk to wear a special power-armor suit with increased weight limit capabilities, and I must use special perk-cards which decrease weight of junk/meds/food.
But at the same time I have a friend, who has absolutely everything he wants/needs in the game, doesn't care about food/water meters and he doesn't carry 300 cans of dog-food and a bag of meds big enough to cure the whole damn East-coast. It's absolutely possible to manage your stash, but it's additional work and not many are willing to do it.

Another big let-down is FPS, because the game-engine is a dead horse, and they keep beating it with FO76. I don't have the best GPU, but I'd at least expect the game to run adequately on medium to low settings - alas.
I would definitely recommend turning down the 'fades' (actor/foliage/items etc.) as low as possible, because drawing distance is killing the GPU+CPU.

I've been playing since the release of the game, and I've seen all kinds of bugs, thankfully most of them were fixed, but due to an ancient engine and lack of proper testing practices we are still occasionally introduced to new ones.
However unlike it was in the past, now devs and community managers are much more responsive and bugs get fixed much more efficiently.


I'd like to say that It's a tragedy, that gaming industry got so fed, that publisher companies decided to view their consumers as trash-eating rats. It took just 1.5 years to finish the game - it's not a huge amount of time! Yet here we are.

Do I recommend this game?

Hmmm... let's see now:

- Zombies? (Check!)
- Blood & gore? (Check!)
- Smack talk? (Check!)
- Decent graphics? (Check!)
- Sound, that makes you ♥♥♥♥ your pants each time you hear a big enemy coming? (Dear god YES!)
- Music, that makes you want to shoot the living ♥♥♥♥ out of every moving object in the game? (Check, check, check!)

I love every. single. part. of this game.

I've been satisfied with a half way ready game in the early access! Half of the game, Coral!

I can't wait until the full release! I want all of them perks, new weapons (dear God please make double Scar happen) and ♥♥♥♥ loads of upcoming fun!
