Nexon America is probably the worst game publishing company in the world. Nexon America has repeatedly nerfed content on release in Global MapleStory(GMS) without any communication, no advanced warning about upcoming changes and patch notes a few hours or maybe a day before server maintenance.

Recently in MapleStory Korea(KMS), the parent version of GMS, The largest update the game has seen in 7 years "New Age" was announced and received overwhelming support and had a very successful launch. The game is looking amazing everyone in GMS and other regions are incredibly hyped for the coming changes. Fast forward to when GMS test servers launch, only a select few members of the community can play the test servers to preview the game to the community. Each of these have signed NDAs and have a strict list of content that been approved to show to the public. One of the streams accidentally does something not within the content guidelines(hunting mobs) and this leaks that gathering new materials has been given a daily limit that is not present in any other region. In the original version of New Age it took Korean players 4-6 months to complete the new content, with the limit imposed on GMS it will take players a minimum of 1.6 years to complete the new content. Not to mention that they are adding onto the New Age content every 6 months in KMS so the time it takes GMS to progress will continue to grow by 4x the amount of time. GMS community was outraged and on the official forums and official discord server players were silenced and no response was given from the game developers at Nexon America. The MapleStory community managers did eventually respond to the overwhelming negative player feedback, but their acknowledgement of the issues has no weight on if the developers will change anything. 15 hours before the New Age maintenance another region reveals plans of monetizing the New Age progression system by selling players a booster that expires every month.

0/10 game, they don't care about player experience just about making profit from their player base.
Went from the most hyped I've been about playing the game to so disappointed I'm quitting without looking back.

There was enough public community outrage that nexon actually removed the negative changes to the New Age Patch. So I will continue to play but this type of predatory game design is normal for nexon, hopefully with a new head CEO the game will change for the better.
