I do believe this is a good Sonic game that can be held up with the classic three games Sonic 1, 2 and 3&K. If I was to be critical of this game it feels like it has no identity of its own, I do not feel like it’s the devs fault. I think Sega wanted them to rehash old levels instead of giving them the time to create all new zones and levels for a tie in to that god awful Sonic Forces game.

I for the first time ever in my life played the crap out of Sonic 3 and Knuckles and did nearly everything and I can say out of both of those games I feel Sonic Mania falls short of what it could be. Substages like pinball, slots and the gumball are missing from Sonic 3 which I feel is a little disappointing.

I hope that we can get a new engine at some point that gets rid of the jank from the old Sonic games like getting crushed by nothing and sometimes falling out of the level for no reason along with other problems.

If we ever do get another game like this, please do not redo any more then maybe two or three levels from that past or at the very least make them unlockable, I do think that it needs focus on a new story with its own worlds and not revisiting old maps.

this game is stupid amounts of random fun.

This game is a masterpiece, I recommend this game to everyone. It's a hard game but I find it a good tool to see how far you can push yourself, I beat this game and I think anyone can. My first time beating this game I felt like a god, I really think that anyone can really can go through hell and comeout on top.

I would recommend that if you are getting mad, put the game down for a little bit and then come back to it. I don't know how many times I put it down, if your angry I think the game knows you are and punishes you for it. I really have no idea if it can read how mad you get but, I find that it does a good job crushing you.

Even after all that I say below I still recommend this collection because it is a legal way to get SEGA roms, you can play them on many different emulators around the web with way better functionally.

A really clunky and very poorly programmed emulator. This emulator has some really big problems with it’s sound in the way it garbles and even plays back some sounds at the wrong play back rate. Examples are Sonic’s Goal plates sound like a garbage can instead of a magic ringing sound.

I said SEGA created this emulator but it seems that they did not, it was created by someone and used by D3T, however you would think SEGA would have had higher standards.

Another thing D3T did is create a really high demanding version of a simple program from the 90’s in this virtual reality simulation. They also don’t have any way for people with slower computers to enjoy many of the “reposted roms from rom sharing sites” I mean mods.

I hope sometime in the future they can get better moderators and also get an update out to disable VR room altogether with mod functionally.

why can I review this

This port is good I do like the widescreen but there are a few bugs in the chao garden, I hope in the future the do a remaster that they fix everything wrong with the game. They need to have someone do are remastered version of this game with bug fixes and maybe online play. I know other video game devs have done this to good effect I hope they do it someday.

A fun title that is in no way like the Mario Kart franchise. This title has a insane amount of learn and curve, if you want a fun online experience you will need to jump some hefty hurtals, this game will make you rage at times. This game does not hold your hands and expects you to do it all youself, train hard and then go for match making.

Update : Down vote to make Sonic the Hedgehog die faster.

After owning it for the failing WiiU system and now on Steam, I find I hate this title just as much as I did then and maybe even more now, for people that say people only hate this game because they are not good at it should delete yourself from Steam forever.

Every level feels like there was no planing at all put into them, if you look over every level design choice you see like, put BS thing here, if you are lucky you will not be killed by the bad level programing and or Sonic The Hedgehog running on the side of everything in the level, even if you are trying the hardest to get Sonic to do what you want.

I here some people thinking that I suck at video games, and I say that I don't. I play some of the hardest games ever made like Darksouls and difficulty is not a problem for me, I'M one of the best Tails Main in Sonic & Sega Allstarts Racing Transformed, I played every Game in the franchise good or bad. Played all the way to the end of this B Team train reck they tried to sell us.

People prase the music, and I for one think it does sound good. But not as music for a "Sonic Game" music more in line with Sandbox building games like Minecraft, music I put on for a baby to go to sleep with.

They are trying there F'ing hardest to suck the live out of the franchise, like do we even need a story if they are going to put next to no effort into it. Even a four year old can spot the errors in the first few cutseens, I am not even going to cover how bad they are because there is youtube, you can watch them yourself's and you can not view cutseens after they play without deleting your save and starting all over again, I don't understand why they did this because both Colors and Generations had a movie player screen where you could.
