What an absolute quality expansion to the base game! The expanded Decrees are such a delight and having to balance Authority, Budget & Energy is great and the fact they now update BETWEEN TURNS changes the dynamic so much and allows for so many different playthroughs other than just "Reformist" or "Dictator". The layered society they have crafted is such a joy to explore and get caught up in, sometimes literally as like my first adventure in Sordland I got coup'ed :)

This game is such a unique experience, that first playthrough is something I have never experienced before, because I did everything I thought was right and failed in my goals. This is such a well crafted experience, because it differs from other games like Democracy and other 'government sim' games. You inherit a country in crisis, many factions are already against you and your allies, internal and external are few and far between. Want to go into this challenge of a political maze with good intentions, ideas or even morals? You will not last. This game is the part of politics about facing reality and compromising to achieve goals, or becoming what you hate in order to avoid resistance. Greatly looking forward to the DLC!
