It's a great game, it truly is. But apparently still affected by corporate greed.

Sony wants more, we want less!

Don't buy this game and give in to Sony it's BS. We are the customers they need to cater to.

Early Access Review
Any game in Early Access is expected to change. Last Oasis is no exception. It had to change: zergs were destroying official servers, griefers pushed more PVE focussed players onto privately hosted servers. This all altered the playerbase, which was also massively reducing in size. After a long time of radio silence, Donkey Crew announced the new season, THE season that would turn the game back on track, they noticed (or maybe not) the altered player base and thought that if they could limit the zergs, all would turn back to a healthy game... But why stop there? Let's add improvements to the player experience, surely that must help!

And it should've, yet, it didn't...

This season implemented a lot of radical changes to the game. Some were very welcoming. Most were not.
The free placement on top of our walkers was replaced by a node based system, limiting placement to prevent clown-cars.
It is fun there is a reason to go to Rupu camps, but the schematics are probably the worst addition to the game, sure they limit zergs in a way, yet larger groups of players still benefit as small groups and solo players have an even harder time getting the right schematics. All knowledge can be lost in 1 raid as schematics are a physical consumable.
Because schematics drop from rupu camps, progression has moved to a new format. The shift to RNG based progression I find inferior to the old system, that allowed you to choose your own path / progression.

The necessity, in this season, to create a base undermines the nomadic gameplay element that was originally advertised. The inability to park walkers off the map punishes small groups and solo players, as their walkers are susceptible to sandstorm damage and raiding while they’re offline.
Even if these changes are temporary, the developers forced the playerbase to play on the official servers to play season 5, as the privately hosted servers do not have access to all tiles needed to progress in the game.

All in all, Last Oasis used to be unique in the survival sandbox games, but with this season the developers tried to mimic others in an unsuccessful way to gain popularity. I have played this since the closed alpha and enjoyed most of it till this point. It all might change or not next season, but at least at this point I don’t see it happening and can’t recommend this game.

Early Access Review
Valheim is a welcoming addition to the Open World Survival games. Most popular games in this category are aging. This game has a lot of unique way of doing things. It's a very refreshing experience.
For a 20 Dollar game, it has a lot of content and looking at the roadmap there will be a lot more coming this year.

A couple notable features: Dynamic weather, huge map, flexible building system & cross-server play with characters.

If you're into this genre, look no further!
