Be it with or without mods, this game has managed to suck away countless hours of my life whether I'm on PC, PS3, or Xbox 360. Much flack as I might give Bethesda sometimes, that certainly has to mean something.

The one that started it all...
For me, at least.

I remember when I was a wee kid - my brother and I shared a PS2 between us, and of course, this gave way to a handful of arguments about whose turn gets to be how long and 'oh no I don't want to watch you play that, I've already beaten that.'

LEGO Star Wars was a step in a good direction on that front.

Co-op was a blast with my brother and I - while my love for the prequels at the time was more from my own youthful naivety, its LEGO incarnation was a kind of fun I still enjoy. Even now, as a young adult, when I picked up this game in its current state bundled with LEGO Star Wars II, I felt the same bit of joy I did as a child.

And yes, I absolutely got 100% in this game, it's driven the habit into my skull for all LEGO games; and now I've gotten 100% (including achievements) in LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, Batman 1-3, Lord of the Rings, Jurassic World, and am presently working on Harry Potter Years 1-4.

I can't really figure out the words to recommend this with, but I absolutely do; I love the LEGO games. And when it's time to grind for 100%, just turn the in-game music to 0 and play your own music on Spotify to keep things lively.

This game just works for me - on a number of levels. The story, the aesthetic, and the feeling of dread when I hear Six's heartbeat quickening, followed by the angered shriek of one of the Maw's grisly assailants; it's all great to me.

Six is adorable, the monsters are not, and while our tiny protagonist struggles to escape becoming a meal, I couldn't help but feel myself hungry for more. I'll definitely need to pick up the Secrets of the Maw DLC; this review will likely be changed at the time that I play through it.

Mechanically, I only had a few moments of annoyance, slipping off a pipe once or twice, the camera's angle and panning speed making it difficult to aim Six's attempt to power-slide to safety. These issues, however, had long periods of satisfactory gameplay between them, and on the whole I had not only sparse problems, but a lot of fun steering Six through this short, macabre story.

If the gameplay length vs price bothers you, I'd advise waiting for a sale as I did; this game is unlike anything I've played before, and I'd love for more people to experience it.

I've already recommended Overture, so you can bet your mittens I'm going to recommend this; in fact, I recall this being my favorite of the two, full of good moments of atmospheric suspense and a genuine curiosity as to what precisely Philip and I were working toward - a curiosity that fueled a very enjoyable playthrough.

Played in short sequence with Overture, the narrative these two games create is just a treat. If it weren't for my enjoyment of these games, I don't think I would have ever given Amnesia the time of day - heck, these games are largely responsible for my fondness of horror games!

My introduction to Frictional Games, before my foray into the world of Amnesia - all things considered, I'd say it's a darn good first impression.

The game isn't terribly long; I beat it in just shy of 6 hours, though I may have had it open while I was away from my laptop as well. Regardless, after playing other horror games such as this, its sequel Black Plague, Little Nightmares, and Layers of Fear, I'm one of the opinion that a horror game doesn't need to be a long-winded venture to be memorable. In fact, being able to make it through the entire experience in an extended sitting only helps the poignancy of the world these games create.

If you've played Amnesia: the Dark Descent, and want to see where some of its mechanics first found their legs, give this a try, please - it and Black Plague were a truly enjoyable time.

Requiem, um... It's Requiem.

Simple and short, yet Princess Remedy does both in a way that has me already itching for my next playthrough. Higher difficulties and hidden hearts/upgrades add even more replayability to that which this game already possessed through sheer personality.

It says something when a game that only takes around an hour to beat is memorable all the same.
