Honestly, I think Hunt might be beyond saving at this point. The fundamental gameplay has shifted, one inch at a time towards being a Call of Duty game with a cowboy reskin. Maybe this is to appeal to a wider audience, but it is at the cost of what made the game unique.
When a massive relaunch like this added essentially nothing of value, just a new map and slightly nicer graphics (with a massive performance hit to the average PC) you have to wonder what decisions management is making at this company. What we did get from the update was an out of touch UI, balance changes that did not touch on actual pain points, and glitches that make me feel like I'm playing a test build of the game.
Crytek has consistently over-promised, and under-delivered.
The best thing they can do if they choose to continue this route is to release the final build of Hunt: Showdown to the community and let us run our own servers. Hell, let us buy skins, I'm sure many people would love to continue doing so. But not underneath this new game design philosphy. Hunt is dead, it's only 1896 now.
