This is Gears of War Ultimate Edition, only it's broken. Crossplay is nice tho. Wish I could hear people in game who don't have their Microsoft Accounts linked, but also don't link your Microsoft Account or your game will crash when you connect to the servers :) You can get around this by going offline to boot up the game then going back online, but I shouldn't have to do that. The original 360 version is still the better version, even with its old graphics and jank.

Update: Log-in bug was fixed with one of the first patches (thankfully.) Still pretty glitchy, but both the original and Ultimate versions were too.

One BIG minor thing to note: there is NO LAN support whatsoever on any version of the game. Online multiplayer only. Kinda bums me out; Gears on LAN is SUPER fun and would've been AMAZING to add if they could crossplay working offline. Would've made it my definite edition. Also, ADD A SERVER BROWSER FOR PRIVATE MATCHES PLEASE!!!

Just play it. It's free to play, you can play with your friends no matter what console, and it's not call of duty.

Xbox version dropped with crossplay, and the previously excluded countries are now able to play once again \m/, Go pick this game up

Go play Battlebit Remastered instead.

One of my favorite games of all time. Picked it up on sale for $5. Best part is now I have a rotating monitor to play it vertically.

Now the only thing missing for PC is SotN and Rondo of Blood (Dracula X is not the same)

A true classic with updated visuals. You can run the vanilla version as well, and use the files for other loaders for mods, etc. if you prefer.

SUPPORT INDIE DEVS! This is a great functional massive-FPS game with frequent updates as opposed to getting 2 patches per "season" in other games like this. It runs great on old hardware, and is a steal at $15.

Update: The game has reached a state where I can finally start recommending it. Campaign co-op has launched, albeit splitscreen co-op, Forge is out, and they released the Custom Games Browser early, meaning you don't need friends if you want play some jenga or duck hunt. Complaints about the campaign are still relevant, as there hasn't been any campaign dlc yet. Even if you have played the multiplayer before, I highly recommend trying it out again now that customs are here and thriving.

Original review: As fun as the sandbox is, this game was not ready to be released. No infection, limited gametypes and maps, no forge, no co-op campaign. This came out too soon in an effort to get money now. Don't even get me started on how boring campaign is. You're either fighting in the woods, a banished base, or a forerunner construct. Majority of the complaints I have will be fixed in the next few seasons, but that's almost half a year away.

Edit: Oh yeah, game crashes randomly too. :)
