Is cool.
Not very grindy unless you want it to be, doing optionals and few investigations here and there over the course of the "story" will be all you need to get the gear you want, which you will replace soon anyway. Some endgame content too, so every autist out there can have his 500h-1000h and get so burned out on rng grind(which I don't defend) that he ends up telling everyone how ♥♥♥♥ the game is, whether it's here on steam or anywhere else on the internet where no one cares anyway.

For folks new in the franchise - it's cool action game with big monsters, "really makes you FEEL like a hunter". 100h+ worth of gameplay(story + optionals + few investigations + arena) before you reach endgame, story will probably continue in Iceborne expansion. Also, git gud. "Many stunlock combos"? "Restrictive combat"? Come on, game is easy, while still providing challenge with every new monster you encounter, once you learn what each one is about, it's just matter of poking him long enough untill he dies(IF you git better).
For folks familliar with the franchise - you will say that FU was better anyway.

Only gripe - why they hell would they keep cutscenes at 16:9 for ultrawide monitors, if they are clearly not prerendered and work great with ultrawide mod. That makes absolutely no sense, the only thing I can think about is them not wanting their console players to feel like they got "inferior" version. I guess it's better to piss off 1% than majority.
