It's everything I always wanted from a game since I played BG back in the day. And it even has mod support, be sure to check out "Call of the Wild" mod!

Still one of the best and addictive games I ever played.

Rimworld, like any game, is not for everyone and it's hard to compare it against other games or even genres to make a recommendation for other players. The only game that comes to my mind would be Prison Architect.
At the end of the day it really is a story simulator. I have so many memories of different colonies and pawns that ended in a tragedy, I could write a book about it... And that's exactly what this game is about in my opinion.

If you like to spend hours building a base, growing to love your colonists and finally see them die in a horrible way, this game is for you!

It also has a awesome modding community with a ton of quality mods!
The most outstanding one would be the Multiplayer mod. It still blows my mind how the community managed to turn a single player game into a multiplayer one that actually works!
