Wait for a 3-4 more patches before you buy, had to restart playthru 2 times, once after 30 and another one now which is after another 90 due to gamebreaking bug or constant crashing .. not gonna do that again
keep your money till playable game is out

Very enjoyed it, better with a friends, played in early acess and will def give a go a full release

I wouldn't recommend this game for simple reasons:

1. World-
I will start with this, since it says open world game, but it doesnt feel like it. World doesn't feel like you want to explore it, you cant interact with much stuff, not even sitting on a chair. (OK, you can pet cats and thats all).
Character models are boring, repeating same lines all over, many times two same character models stay at one place "talking together" but with different topics. Once at 1 place at hall, there was 2 character models, with only different colors of clothes. there was 6 of in front of one doors.

Lets try to ignore invisible walls and not talk about them, world is small anyway.

2. Story

Somehow you are introduced introduced into wizard world rly weird way. You starting your magical journey as overpowered wizard who can beat anything (for real?) I just want to point i play always hardest difficulties, and game felt weirdly easy most of the time.
Storyline itself is boring, and a lot of time its missing the feeling to explore whats gonna happend next. This is problem especialy with some mission, that are more annoying than anything else, not entertraining and you just want them done, so you can continue to something else.

3. Combat and character movement-

Combat is so repetetive, with average sound efects. switching the spells and whole system os using them is annoying.
Character movement feels somehow... "off". Same for broom flying mechanic.

4. I'am Legend -

Yes, that movie. Let me explain why...
Even there are students on the halls, and houses, it feelss weird, they stay all the time at same place, repating same phrases a lot of time you see two same model talking about something but if you stay there for a minute you notice that only switching between 2-3 phrases. Sometimes absolutly out of context,
You can't interact with students outside quests.
Overall impresion is museum of wax figures.

5. Cosmetics -

This is part of the game that surprised me, in a really good way. The way ho you can manage your gear is pretty nice, without any needing to unlock it or something, This makes a big + for HL. Wish i can see this in other titles too.

6.Twitter Flaming prevention.

This part was off for me the most. especially in time we have been told we playing in the UK. So in the game they gave us noticeable 3 characters, I think that they kind of forced "diversity" into this. Compare it to the books and movies, it seems kind off that the students and teachers in HL are more "diverse" by ethnicity in the 1890s than they are in the 1980s/1990s in the books and movies. Transgender barkeeper in the three broomsticks feels very forced, like they wanted to include a trans character to combat the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ by Twitter wokists...
Bartender isn't herself beating you over the head with her diversity, but the story very much does. The game practically screams that Sirona is a NORMAL PERSON! You probably thought SHE would be a WEIRDO, but she's SO NORMAL!
All of this was to prevent wokist on Twitter imo, and you feel it in certain parts of the story/missions.

7. Graphics
Heres another good point for the game, graphics and world around looks good. A lot of stuff ha small details, sadly it doesnt help the feeling of "empty" world.

8.Consequences-
theres no consequences, you can cast unforgivable curses around as you wish, walking around school at night withou need to sneak, no one will bother catch you or punish you.
Forbidden forest? clearly only name, no consequences at all, no matter who will go there, not even more dangerous than other areas with enemies.

Overall, its not bad game, it will find fans, but itsn not a game you will come back to, had pretty big hype, so also ppl was expecting much more too.
Dont buy it for full price, wait for sale. Its nice to play it (kind of) but not for original price.

Still worth to play in 2023, like the game so far.
Crying kids zombies scared me as hell, and made me stop playing the game for like a year, but always come bac to it.

With community patches and some mods, i love it. Best story series ever made.

Definitely worth to play,
fast combat, very useful to learn movement before aim.

After recoil change its no more based on skill that much, online raids are no more a thing and def gonna get offlined every time you play.
If you like waste your time and enjoy pain, worth it.
