When I first saw this game I was worried it looked a bit like a generic supernatural shooter. I recently got it for free from Humble Bundle, and I have got to say it is amazing. Not only is it visually impressive, especially with RTX on, the story is fantastic and super intriguing and the gameplay is really good. I'm a big fan of how this game does healing. In most similar shooters once you take a couple hits you go find a wall to hide behind, regenerate your health, then go straight back to shooting. In this you have to heal by picking up drops from enemies you kill, which rewards playing aggressively in a really well done way.

TL;DR: Fantastic Visuals, Great story, Great Gameplay.

Fantastic game. Well hidden, but very rewarding secrets. Fascinating lore. Difficult but (mostly) fare gameplay. HIghly reccomended.

Early Access Review
This game is a combination of Space Engineers (building style), Rimworld (over all theme/survival mechanics), and Subnautica (story progression/survival mechanics as well) and I mean that in the best way possible. It takes the best parts of all of them and throws them together while taking the worst parts out. It gets around some of the quality and performance problems of other space games by making different play zones for different areas, which might sound bad but it means the game can look much better at the same time having huge maps and diverse areas to explore.

TL;DR:
Space Engineers but with a purpose to the game and actually going somewhere with development.

Elite: Dangerous is not an easy game to learn. The game has a huge learning curve, but that means that once you have mastered the game you have FULL control of everything. On top of that there are a ton of different game play styles and goals you can set for yourself. This is not a game where you follow a story set by the devs that everyone will follow as well. There is an over arching story but the best parts of the game are the moments that you and the other players create. When I first saw this game on steam I was given the impression that it was buggy, slow paced, and boring. That is not at all the case. I have run into a couple of bugs over my 200 hours of play and the worse one was resolved by relogging into the game. The game can be slow paced but that depends on how you play it. There are tons of different jobs that you can do, such as exploration (my favorite), bounty hunting, pirating, trading, and more. I have never found the game boring. I tend to go on week long expeditions and I turn on my favorite podcast and explore. For an example of how much I like this game I have bought the base game ($30), the Horizons DLC ($30), 2 t16000m's ($50 each, $100 total), voice attack ($13), and 3 hcs voice packs ($40) for a total of $213 USD spent on this game. You may see that as a bad thing but I think it is amazing. It is not necessary to do spend that much at all, you really only need the base game and Horizons. I loved this game so much that I almost spent as much on it as I did my computer (my computer cost me about $250). That also shows how easy it is to run this game. Not every computer can run it, but most cheap gaming PC's can on low to medium settings.

TL;DR: Good game, steep learning curve, everything is customizable, relatively low requirements.

PS: The micro-transactions are purely for cosmetic items, they have no effect on game play, and you can not by credits or money in game.

This game is great. All of the negative reviews that say the multiplayer is broken dont realize that the devs have stated that they are working on the multiplayer code, and it is getting closer and closer to being released.
