Sony after hitting their community with the 2024 equivalent of "Do you guys not have phones ?", and then making the development team at Arrowhead manage the brunt of the reasonable consumer backlash. Relented from the worst decision they've made in years and listened to the players fulfilling their motto of - For the Players.

Artistically its a masterpiece. Its visually stunning, incredibly neat setting with a diverse range of death animations and confronting scenes but with a grossly repetitive combat loop and constant backtracking thanks to its ambiguously linear mapping it gets boring very quickly and lacks impact and it feels that there is a lack of attention to detail, for lack of a better way to describe it.

The controls are clunky, with no way to holster your weapon clearly. The centre mass quick shot mechanic is unneeded and irritating. Inventory management is undercooked and looks like it was only brushed over during development, made blatantly apparent in the second level with the game clearly intending for you to explore but then providing far more rewards than you are able to carry.

I have also never had a game respawn me at the checkpoint following the fight i had died in to the final enemy, which caused me to Alt+F4 in disgust, as I was robbed of the reward of overcoming the segment.

Call of Duty: Activisons 2042 - tl;dr game is a disappointment and no where near worth the price tag or the hype

Campaign while brilliant isn't worth the price tag with the Multiplayer tacked on which as everyone knows is the main draw and supposed to be what makes up the majority of playtime. Even 2042 was more entertaining on release. There was a lot of promise with the weapon platform progression and gun play but it results in what feels like an even worse grind than in previous instalments. Maps are cramped and claustrophobic the perk system is clunky and makes 0 sense and the flow of combat coupled with the cramped nature of maps see's the majority of players camping choke points waiting for the other team to get bored like its a game of casual Valorant.

This on top of the poor optimisation and reported regular crashes makes for an over all lack lustre experience, which is truly disappointing.

Do yourself a favour, wait until the game is on sale.

It's like the lead developers at DICE looked at Cyberpunk 2077's launch and said - "You know what, we can top that, hold my beer."

Don't. Just go play Battlefield 4 or Halo Infinite. This game's direction is so far removed from Battlefield that they might as well have just called it Call of Overwatch: HoverField, and the poor balance and number of crashes, bugs and sheer lack of content at launch for the price tag acts as a prime example of why not to pre-order. On top of that gameplay trailers are misleading to the extreme.

The game shouldn't be out of development and should still be there for at least the next 6 - 12 months, The levelution that Battlefield has prided itself on is completely absent. The 5 maps that exist at launch, which is frankly unacceptable to begin with, are so wide and open that it might as well be tagged as a walking simulator. The weather events are laughable and are only a minor annoyance that has next to no effect on the map or overall gameplay and for proper levelution to be abandoned in preference of that is a travesty. The game itself disgustingly poorly optimised for many users and unbalanced and buggy in combat. Assault Rifles near unusable, and rolling the dice in general as to whether or not your shots will register. The Vehicle vs Troop combat, in-particular Hovercraft, is so one sided that at least half your deaths will be caused by them.

The framework for a good game is there but the development team completely butchered it focusing more on internet memes and cool clips from better battlefield games, than on actual content and world development. The abandonment of the Class System and use of a specialist system makes target differentiation incredibly difficult and detracts from what makes Battlefield Battlefield. The game has a brilliant backstory and setting which could be played to absolute perfection for immersion if done by a competent dev team. The Specialists are so out of place and completely destroy the immersion in the game's world, sounding like a 11 year old's idea of what a soldier is like.
The audio engineering is garbage and it is literally impossible to hear a tank rolling up right beside you, or the gunfire from that enemy that just walked right but to you, not to mention the sound track.

This game will go down as the worst Battlefield and it will be a miracle if they are able to salvage it. Key piece of advice in the words of Angel, "Stay away, do not come to me."

Don't buy this game. Don't waste your money on this garbage studio that shills itself to its toxic Chinese audience.

The game has been given no quality of life improvements and is so poorly optimised to the point that it chugs on even top tier systems despite being 2 years post release. If you are from anywhere outside of AS, this game is dead and if you do manage to find a game it is riddled with with hackers. Save your money and go play a better game that is free and run by a studio that cares for and listens to its player base - Like Apex or Fortnite.

I wish it wasn't dying but given how BlueBalls has managed this game and its player bases, it deserves to be.
