the concept is great, but the execution needs work, for example if I have a fire that says it will burn for 20 minutes I can walk 3 feet from the fire turn around and it will be down by 2-3 minutes, If your going to use an accelerated time table you need to increase movment speed for it to feel balanced, the time I expect it to take me to go a certain distance should be near what is reflected in in game time, also I found it annoying that I found a road flare, but could not start a fire without tinder, a magneasium flare could easily light some small to medium sticks without issue, and that I can't move a stick (that is small enough that I can break it down with my hands) closer to my fire, so I can break it down in warmth during the 10 minute break down (see previous statment about time tables) and it was the abundance of small things like this that just completely broke my immersion. all in all a great concept, but it needs some work to feel right
