I started using gamemaker in the year 2011 with gamemaker 8 (it could have been 6 or 7). Through out the next few years I taught myself how to use it. I didn't know how to code or even what a variable or function was back then. All I knew that these "buttons" manipulated objects. when I changed from gamemaker to gamemaker: studio I didn't really see much of a difference except for the fact that I could export my game to different devices then just windows. since then I was able to teach myself how to program in GML and I have been able to learn lots of helpful functions off the top of my head making games a lot quicker to make and being able to make more complex games.

I recently discovered that I could get a free gamemaker key for steam since I had already bought gamemaker: studio professional from yoyogames. so now that I have gamemaker on steam I will try to upload some working alphas or betas of games for people to enjoy and if any become quite popular I will try to update those games so they are better. ;)
