Can't recommend this game now, but I think it has potential. Civ 7 threw out a lot of the things which made Civ 6 (with all of the patches and DLCs) great:

- An intuitive UI
- A plethora of details related to yields and bonuses
- A system for curtailing AI forward settling (loyalty)
- Clear graphics, ease of telling which tile belongs to which city and what is on that tile

Some other things which Civ 7 could benefit from:
- Engaging and unique map generation
- Figuring out a better way to implement the ages system
- Why does a third of the game center around western style colonialism/imperialism? Why am I railroaded into a given playstyle? I guess I could choose to run w/ racking up huge yields or chasing religion, but why do I have to conquer "distant lands" if I want to run a militaristic campaign in the exploration age?
- A better means of handling the settlement cap
