While it can be soloed, the game has a weird system that adds additional difficulty the fewer players you have.
Previously, I thought you always get 20 Reinforcements for the team to use which would make sense since even if you go with less than full squad, you get the same amount of lives, thus making it fair for everyone. That's not the case though. You get 5 Reinforcements per player, so if you go solo, not only do you have to deal with the same amount of enemies alone, but the game makes it even more difficult for you by reducing the number of times you can respawn.
Each difficulty level feels like it is rewarding in its own way for various reasons. You don't have to constantly play the highest difficulty.
The resources you need for unlocking the permanent warbonds, the stuff inside of them, and strategems could all be farmed at level 1 difficulties if you wanted to.
Only ship upgrades require you to go to higher difficulties (medium rarity at levels 4 and higher, high rarity at level 7 amd higher). Luckily with the ship upgrades, you don't oftentimes need the highest rarity samples too often. Most people need the more common ones because it requires A LOT of them.
So again, soloing the game is very possible, even if you're not competitive.
You might need a team once in a while if you want the more expensive ship upgrades, but they are not necessary to enjoy the game, and could still be done solo if you're good/dedicated enough.
It's a great Deck game.
"who calls it rock scissors paper??? are you a nonce"
Just about everybody calls it that.
I assume you're asking if I'm a "nonce" because you're looking for people you can relate to. I'm not, and so unfortunately, you'll just have to continue being a predator on your own. So sad.
