This review is coming from somebody who owns FS13, 15, and 17. So I'll be presenting my views for both long time players, and those who haven't owned/played farming simulator before.

If you have a real nice computer to run this on, it's almost a work of art- There's detail where you'd least expect it. The gameplay is also wonderful, you have a couple different "routes" you can go when it comes to making money; making the biggest farm you can, handling huge heards of animals, or furiously logging. The game also has a pretty sophisticated economy, which takes a lot of variables into consideration, and also makes you think about how you can maximize your return on investment.

Compared to previous versions of Farming Simulator, it certainly is an improvement in several categories, including visuals, physics, and general game mechanics. Many people do say that it's not much of an improvement compared to Farming Simulator 15, and I partially agree with them. I feel the part that makes it worth the upgrade would be the assortment of new and improved assets- some things in FS15 just felt poorly put together, meanwhile FS17 offers a wide variety of equipment (with lots of extra options too), all of which brings a new or improved experience to the table.

If you own a previous version of FS, I'd suggest watching YouTube videos of FS17 or potentially seeing if a friend can let you play, because my opinion of it being notably better than FS15 may not be the same as your opinion as to how similar it really is, and you can decide for yourself if it really lives up to the hype.
If you've never owned/played Farming Simulator before, and you're interested in it, I highly suggest this game for you, (partly because there's no major advantage to purchasing an older version), as it'll be able to provide you with hours of fun (or screwing around), and there probably won't be another version until around 2019.

I really like it.

This game is great, as it features very well paced game progression, and a story that at least blew my mind away.

The playable mods in this game are another plus, as you have three modes of play- Story, Sandbox, and Escape mode. Each of these are fun in their own way. I personally enjoy Sandbox and Escape the best... Who doesn't want to build a prison just to find out that you could burn it all down in one week?

First thing's first: This game is nothing like Minecraft.

While it may be a glorious pixely game with monsters, tools, and house building, it really doesn't share much else with other games like Minecraft.

The game doesn't have an actual story line, but it does have a cool progression of events. You build houses (or a compound, if you're me) for your village, accomplish tasks, and get vilagers who each specialize in a certain trade. Along with that, you are also faced with controlled boss encounters. Most of the time, you will use a summoning item, of which will start a boss battle. These battles aren't only challanging, but even are fun to do, and can be quite rewarding in terms of dropped items.
I haven't entered "hardmode" yet, which happens when you defeat the Wall of Flesh boss. I accidentally killed a vudu demon over lava, which dropped the guide vudu doll in lava. That spawns the Wall of Flesh. Big mistake on my part.
The game is so unique between every world, as each world has its own pieces that are never the same. All the way from whether it has a "corrupt" or a "crimson" biome (these are the "evil" biomes that spread in hardmode), to the little things like which sun texture is used- Yes, there are many different suns the game can choose from when generating a world.

This game can certainly entertain anybody for such a long period of time. You could even just pick this game up for a few minutes a day, and you'd still know what's happening.

It's also great that the multiplayer is quite intuitive now, (I bought this back when you had to do the port forwarding, as it didn't have the "join game" in the Steam overlay functionality yet), and that the game is so inexpensive. I've got several friends who I bought this for, just so that we could do some multiplayer.

The only issues are really not game changing at all.
I happen to have a real nice computer that I built myself, and I've got three monitors in an "Eyefinity" array hooked up to it. The game really doesn't like playing on anything other than a regular aspect ratio. As I've said, probably won't affect most players, but just good to know if you do have a multi-display setup like I do.

The other issue could just be something with my computers settings, as whenever I host a multiplayer server, flying entities tend to jump around. I know it's not my hardware, but it's also worth mentioning in case you find it happening to you too.

It's a great game. I would actually even spen up to $20 on this, but being under $10 makes this a great grab when you have the cash. It even makes it a nice "party favor" to play at your LAN parties with your friends. You can play for so many hours, and never get bored.
94/100- The small issues bug me, but it's a freaking great, fun, play on your spare time with friends game.

Early Access Review
Let my friend who just spawned into my house. He was being followed by 5 guys with guns, who wore lots of clothes.

[number of times killed] out of ten. Would get shot again.

In all reality, it's a good game so far, it just has some issues with those "land lords" who rule every server, and kill you just because they can. I avoid this by hosting a server that just me and my friends play on.

I'd pay anything up to $30 if this was a finished product, but right now, the regular price isn't bad at all, especially considering that the game keeps improving in all aspects (sound, performance, visuals, user interface, mechanics, etc...)

CS:GO Review
This game is where the real pros live. CoD is for babies, Battle Field is for those who have an idea, Counter Strike is for the pros.
That said, the game has some very nice scripting. You'll take realistic damage, so you're not going to walk away from being shot a couple times. There is realistic bullet spread, as each gun has its own pattern and deviation- you're not getting a 360 anything, in game or real life.

I could ramble on about the good things, but there's a few things that I'd like people to be aware of when they buy this game.

While the game has a great library of weapons, you'll quickly find that you're going to want a "skin". These skins cost anywhere from a few cents, all the way up to over a hundred dollars. I wouldn't mind this if I didn't pay for the game, but when I already paid some good money, I don't want to pay more for dinky little visual things.
My second gripe is how the ranking system works. My friend is quite an *** when it comes to him wanting me to get ranked. I don't have the time for 10 rounds of competitive to get "ranked". I just pick games up when I have some time on my hands. Not to brag, but my skills aren't bad. But, since I don't have big blocks of time to play, I cannot play this "competitive" mode. This reflects poorly on my skill, and the phrase "Ugh. An unranked" is on par with the frequent things people say.
The third biggest issue I have is the community. It could just be me, but it's a pain when you're trying to have a good fun game, and then there's this really annoying person who has some stupid anime avatar, and goes on mad killing sprees, and carries the entire other team. Then, on the other side of the spectrum, there's those who just idle. One positive aspect of the community: I have only ran into two squeakers. *victory dance*
The final issue I find worth sharing is that the gun selections for the two teams is not equal. While there are "equivilants" for guns that differ from team to team, there are some that just aren't balanced. Example: The AK-47 is only for terrorists, and I can make sense of that. But, I can't make sense of why it's always a one shot kill to the head, is extremely accurate, and even works well at close range. The reason it's so confusing is that there is no Counter-Terrorist equivilant. The AK needs to be nerfed, or some CT assault rifle needs to be buffed.

In conclusion, it could've been a great game, but it really didn't keep people who can't find 120 consecutive minutes of time in mind, or those who realize the value of money. Can't blame valve for the community, but they could've made it easier to block/mute people in-game.
Luckily I got this from that friend who bugs me about getting ranked as a gift. Personally, knowing first hand how the game works, I wouldn't have bought it.

If you like physics, realism, and England's weather patterns, you'll like this.

The "game", first off, really isn't much of a game. If it was, you would call driving a subway IRL is a game. That is how amazing the realism, physics, and controls are. You find that if anything, this is a true simulator, just with game quality graphics, (go look at the training simulators for heavy macheinery.)

I'm still in awe about the quality of the physics. The train (if you'll call it that) responds like the ones I remember from my trips to London. You even get full functionality of the switches, panels, you name it. If you see it, odds are it does something. You really need to do the tutorial to know how to do stuff, as I've said, it's got every part. You need to do stuff in both ends of the train before it will move.

The graphics aren't the best I've ever seen, as from my experience so far the weather seems "Stuck", like it's about to rain, but there is still some lighting like a sunny day on certain scenery objects. The graphics do put all of the parts on the dash and train into account. You just have to see that for yourself. I really can't say much on the performance, as I built my computer with flagship parts, I don't know what it'll run like for you.

There are a few things that seem to take away from the simulator. Example: "Game Over" when you pass a red light even by a micron split in half. I just wish it didn't show the game over, because it's frustrating, and people pass red lights by up to ten feet, and they aren't shot on sight for it. The menu also seems a little bland and unintuitive, not a big issue, but leaves a bad first impression. Then the controls can be finicky, as it can be hard to know where a "rotating" type switch, and sometimes "spins cluelessly" if you don't know what way to move the mouse for that control.

Overall: It's a good game Simulator when you get it on sale.
