Honest review of Just Cause 4 from a player with nearly 1000 hours combined on JC 2/3 (from console):

Takeover missions are repetitive - You either destroy generators powering missile silos, then guide a hacker to a console where he hacks something then boom done or drive rigged cars into water in order to save a harbour or rescue some civilians from a prison and escort them to a checkpoint.

Vehicle handling has gotten worse - They said it has massively improved since Criterion games took over but it feels like it has somehow got worse in this instalment, bikes are still really bad you make the slightest turn while going at speed and you go flying in one direction.

Performance is meh - JC3 got crap because of the crashes and lag on consoles, however that was more down to the hardware at the time, it was perfect on pc I had no lag at all but I did get crashes due to the poor pc support which has improved this year but I still get game crashes on loading and massive frame drops when there is a lot stuff exploding at once.

Limited ammo - I don't know what they were thinking when they decided to limit ammo for nearly everything in the game when the objective is literally to blow stuff up, it feels like they have tried to change JC with that as I don't really remember a mission focused on blowing stuff up.

UI & Progression System - The UI is probably the worst I have ever seen out of any game I have played it just feels chaotic and the controls are aweful (1 for map makes no sense). For the gear mods you have to destroy blimps which is okay since you actually blowing something up but I feel like they have removed a lot of things just to introduce these air lifters into the game. JC3 had a perfect gear system that I love, it didn't need changing but I guess they also thought that needed changing.

In conclusion, if you want to play a just cause game get 2 or 3 as they are much better this game just feels like a massive downgrade.
