Early Access Review
First found the game because of an Iron Pineapple video, and frankly, I can find very little to complain about. Now, the game definitely has very... "interesting" character designs and a robust physics engine, but the game itself plays exceptionally well and offers an ultimately enjoyable "grind dungeons and get stronger" gameplay loop. I'm not someone who would consider himself part of the target audience the game was aiming for, but the game is certainly worth the $10 asking price. Especially if you have 1-3 friends you can play with.
ALSO, the game is an ORPG, NOT a MMORPG.

So, a foreword, I received this game from Humble Monthly, so I by no means paid full price for it.
Getting into the meat of it, I loved the concept of this game, being something like a fusion between F-Zero and Twisted Metal, but in execution it honestly felt so... wrong. The physics are an absolute nightmare, the RNG elements are dreadful, the controls feel slippery and unresponsive, and having to restart a single race over a dozen times because of a single thing going wrong was vexing beyond belief. I got as far as the first duel and honestly, I've had enough. The duel mode is an absolute travesty, when the only thing the AI has to contend with is you and is able to play almost flawlessly where as you're flailing around like a fish on ice. The duel highlighted quite literally everything inherently wrong with the game's mechanics and shown a blinding spotlight on those issues. I hope the devs are able to make tweaks to the game to bring this issues in line, but until such a time, I can't genuinely recommend this game to most people.

Good entrant in the God Eater franchise, though the outfit options(As of the last time I played) were very much down to personal taste(Tape everywhere). If you like God Eater, or even Monster Hunter, definitely a worthwhile acquisition.

Having just beaten the game, albeit not 100%ed it, I definitely feel the game is worth playing. The controls are exceptionally tight and very rarely did I feel I died because of the game's mechanics not functioning correctly, mostly just due to me pressing the wrong button or screwing something up on my end. The story is a bit on the light side, really only told through snippits of npc dialogue and short cutscenes, but I am genuinely curious about the world, having not played the first three Momodora games, and would like to see more of this franchise. It's not an exceptionally long game, but what the game has to it is very well polished and engaging. I think my biggest complaint, aside from not getting quite as much story as I'd like, is how obscure some of the objectives can be. A recommendation I can make for those that pick the game up, is to explore EVERYWHERE, because otherwise you'll miss some very key things. All in all though, I've enjoyed my time with this game and will probably attempt to clear NG+ in the next week or so.
TL;DR
Pros:
- Pleasing pixel art aesthetic
- Very Tight Controls
- Fun but simple
- Intriguing world
- Tough but fair encounters
- Lots of polish
- Wonderful music

Cons:
- Rather short
- Very few hints for important items
- A lot of back tracking
- Lacking amount of story(not quality)

Despite my gripes, I still highly recommend picking this game up. owo b

Early Access Review
TL:DR It's Bloodline Champions. It's great.

Long Form

Battlerite is, hands down, spectular. Even in this early access version, it captures the feeling and heart of what made Stunlock's previous title, Bloodline Champions, addictive and memorable. The character balance, while not perfect, is very well thought out, and of the characters I've played, I haven't felt completely outmatched by any one specific character, only better players. The core gameplay loop, while simple, is extremely satisfying. You have one real objective, kill the everliving hell out of your opponents. The three main character archetypes, being melee, ranged, and support, are a good base guideline, but belies the sheer variety that comes from each different character. The combat feels smooth and responsive, and the game does a very good job of showing you what each ability does, and you don't generally get left scratching your head because you don't know what happened to you. The game's tutorial, while a little slow for an old BC player like me, was very thorough in teaching newer players the basics and some general situations they may come across. The game still has a lot of work to do, with new characters and maps on the horizon and further balance fixes, not to mention a sizable number of bugs that need to be squashed, but all in all, I can't help but sing the praises of this game. It took what BC did great, added a very colorful and creative art direction, and wrapped it all in a very satisfying package that I can easily recommend to anyone who likes some top down, face smashing arena action.

Okay, so I'm gonna start off by saying "Yes, this game has issues, but don't just focus on the negative." I understand that this game comes from the developers behind The WarZ(A.K.A. Infestation: Survivor Stories), and I have played that game when it was under both names, and yes, this game uses a lot of the mechanics from that title, but as I have played 60+ hours and still desire to play more, where as with infestation, I really had no desire to continue playing, I'd say this game is at least worth a look. The mechanics work well, even if the zombie's hit box for attacks is weird, the bigger melee weapons feel rather meaty, and the guns handle nicely. The way you get blueprints for crafting is somewhat painful as you find them scattered throughout the world or in random "Item" boxes that you find, but it's fairly easy to find some of the more basic needs crafting like crafted ammo. The map is decently large though there are large spans of land with pretty much nothing to do what so ever, but the areas that do have things to do(Towns, farms, etc.) are nicely populated with both zombies and loot. One of the best ways to get loot is via the "Liberation" system where you repair and refuel a number of generators within a location and kill a large number of zombies in a very short amount of time which triggers zombies to stop spawning within the area for a duration(Although the ones that already spawned don't disappear) and airdrops to land in random spots around that area every few minutes until the liberation period ends. The AI is as dumb as a pile of rocks, but that's to be expected of a game of this genre at this point, and honestly, you can escape most if not all zombies by just jumping on top of a car, but it's kinda fun gathering up like, 10-15 zombies and either working through them one at a time or chucking a grenade and blowing them all away. PvP is run of the mill for this kind of game. You have your Bandits that are always out hunting other players down, you have your more passive scavengers that try to avoid contact and fighting when possible, and you have Sheriffs that their main goal is to kill bandits, but the few I've run into are no worse than the bandits they're supposed to hunt. The game's optimization is truly awful, but it's something that the devs can, and hopefully are going to, work on. All in all, the game's average in pretty much every sense of the word. The cosmetics are nice, and you can find USBs(Which are the case keys) as drops from zombies and in the world, so while it's much easier to buy them of course, you can find them, and the items themselves are tradable until you use them and add them to your collection.

TL:DR
Pros:
+Solid combat
+Decent enough Loot
+Liberating towns is rather engaging
+Cosmetics look cool
+Has a good amount of potential
+It's free
+Devs seem to actually be trying

Cons:
-Brick AI
-A fair amount of bugs
-Bad optimzation
-Small-ish community
-Not the prettiest game ever
-It's been done before

This game at least deserves a look if you can get past some of the negatives. So, in conclusion, it's alright. Nothing more, nothing less.

The voice acting is stilted, and overall it's very generic.

I haven't really played many Survival Horror games like DayZ, but picking this up on a whim, I greatly enjoyed what I've played of it, which is about 20 or so hours. The difficulty falls off a bit after a while, but some of the enemies still give you a run for your money, and most players, at least that I've encountered, are not likely to just shoot you down where you stand, though those kinda people still exist. Overall, the gameplay is relatively solid, if a bit glitchy in places, and the enemies are down right terrifying when you first run into them. If you even have a passing interest in this kind of game, I'd say go for it because it's very enjoyable, at least until some random person shoots you in the back.
