Unlike from the prior release of the first game, this game is entirely different in terms of the mechanics and gameplay, its better to not compare rather to appreciate the dimensions in which the games are created. Remember to immerse ourselves and enjoy before criticizing this sequel. I highly prefer both game and equally enjoy it. If you are looking for a roller coaster adventure and plotwise, I suggest starting of the first game but take note - the prequel and the sequel are again colossally different. The first game,Darkest Dungeon, put on an emphasis on the cryptic theme on the game and turn based RPG. Graphic - Centric, the prequel is 2 - Dimensional so expect that this in turn affect your whole gaming experience. The sequel, Darkest Dungeon 2 is roguelike - game and start off clean slate and had a different engine in which the game is created. I won`t spoil the fun by not giving off the detailed analysis on the gameplay and giving you a chance to explore on your own to also help you construct your thought on these two games. I`m giving you a freedom to construct your own stand on this two games. Long story short, I highly prefer both games as a hard core gamer.
