] Gameplay: RPG/10

Killing things is the name of the game. Well, not actually, but it could be. Whether it be cute little slimes and dogs to or monsters straight out of a child's nightmares, killing things is what you do at the start, and it's what you'll be doing at the end.

A massive variety of equips, skills, summons, and more add to an experience that both makes you feel like an unstoppable titan, until you start getting destroyed by a god, and then the other god, and then the other god, and then actual God. However, despite how I've described it, the difficulty curve of each difficulty mode is tweaked to perfection, adding in just enough upgrades so that you constantly have new toys to play with, as well as not stomping the competition instantly.

] Content: Yoshi's Island SNES/10

While it won't take you months to 100% this game, there's so much content packed in that it feels like a reverse ripoff. There's achievements that you can unlock, both for doing braindead tasks as well as for challenges that require a Harvard degree and a therapist. There's so many secrets, optional content, extra gamemodes, and more, that make this game feel as complete as a big-budget industry game. (A claim that will absolutely not age poorly...)

] Graphics and Style: Newgrounds/10

This game looks like it leapt straight out of the Newgrounds website; a concept that is both morally horrifying and completely unique in a stylistic sense. Every single character has a distinct design and personality, and that extends to the enemy design. Every area is instantly recognizable, and every frame of animation is satisfying to the point of climax.

] Humor: Suffocation/10

How can a game be this funny? I don't know, but Matt sure does. The game is flooded with jokes of various contexts; some dark and edgy, some meta and referential, and some that will definitely put you on a government watchlist. What's extra impressive is that the jokes never contradict the established personalities of the character that's telling them, while also furthering the story and providing story context. Just make sure to wipe your eyes occasionally, otherwise you won't be able to see all the war crimes you're committing!

] Music: God/10

Name your favorite video game soundtrack. Got your pick? Good. Now get your air pump, because EBF5 CRUSHED it to hell and back. Phyrnna brings a music selection so utterly fantastic that it makes me depressed from knowing nothing else will ever compare. It's no exaggeration on my part to say that every single track in this game is an absolute banger; every single second lives up to the hype and then some, and then some more. From the energizing "Nymphis Fae" to the soul-searing domination of "Blaze of Iris", every track fits its intended place perfectly. Pack it up, video game industry; we've hit the magnum opus.

} Final Score: Worth the Weight/10

Not many franchises or IPs can say they went off with a bang, but Epic Battle Fantasy went off with a Big Bang. There's so much to do, so much to see, so what's wrong with taking a quick peek? It's an experience that gives AAA titles a run for their money, despite being 1/3 of the cost. Epic Battle Fantasy 5 is a fantastic game that does whatever the hell it wants to, and hits every mark perfectly. So, to put it bluntly: you're missing out if you haven't at least tried it.
