I'm personally having a great time with this expansion. I've had very limited issues with any bugs or anything like that. Only issues I've had are with server connections just due to the massive influx from this expac.

At this rate a lot of people are just jumping on the bandwagon and review-bombing it to oblivion. I do understand and have seen other people with some issues, but I've seen nothing so far that is completely game breaking unless you're trying to run this on a literal toaster PC. For reference my specs:

Ryzen 9 3900X
RTX 2080 SC
32GB RAM
Running on an SSD

I also praise the devs for actually coming out and saying "OK, we know there are issues, let us know which ones everyone considers to be the most important and we will work on it". However looking at the "feedback" people are providing, you're acting like literal children. If you want the game fixed, TALK TO THE DEVS LIKE HUMANS INSTEAD OF TREATING THEM LIKE TRASH YOU PLEBS.

I wouldn't be surprised if we now get less feedback and chat from the devs because of the outcry and childish response.

Onto actual gameplay.

Personally, I am really enjoying the new aspects of on foot gameplay. At the moment I am trying my hand at Xenobiology and Mercenary work. Being able to take part in conquests on different planets makes war states much more immersive. And locating and scanning new organic life on atmospheric planets is such a cool experience. Some of the new looks and screenshots I've got from being on atmospheric planets are phenomenal. There's also the fact you can just rock up to any location on surface and rob the place, either being stealthy or just murdering everyone in the station.

Other changes such as to the UI changes are meh, I don't have a preference either way. However the things that are coming on the roadmap for this expansion and the possibilities going forward are very exciting and I can't wait to see what FDev does with this.

All in all, if you're holding off because of the reviews, I understand, but please know there is quite a bit of bandwagoning going on and you might find you'll be like me and have very few issues, if any. I've seen a lot of people compare this to No mans sky release and I can assure you we are nowhere near that bad.

Amazing overhaul, add's great scenario's and for those saying it's "Multiplayer only" it's not. All you have to do is host a LAN server and you can play the extra co-op missions with AI squadmates. But regardless, the singleplayer scenario missions are also great and showcase a decent amount of the map and equipment added.

Would absolutely recommend if you're into the Vietnam era.

A great return to classic single player, story driven gameplay. Industry needs to move more in this direction again!
