A magnificent amalgamation of many classics of the Golden Age of arcades (Missile Command; Galaxian/Galaga; Asteroids) combined with a modern upgrade-tree progression system. Utopia Must Fall is no mere random pastiche, but something truly compelling. A game that merges classic gameplay elements into something greater than the sum of its parts. The elegantly simple vector art fused with a sublime retro-synth soudtrack (composed by the great Datasette) make something that is both vibrant and haunting, This may be pretentious gushing on my part, but I don't care, it's that good! Don't let the Early Access label put you off, UMF is worth playing right now.
