Fantastic puzzle game with cool psychedelic visuals and a nice moving pace - most of the puzzles are just tricky enough to take a bit of time, but simple enough to not get you stuck for too long.

A solid story-driven game. Seriously flawed due to not being able to skip anything, making re-play to explore different story paths a real chore, but otherwise really well executed all around and worth playing.

Fantastic game / interactive media experience / whatever you want to call this. Especially enjoyable if you are a fan of cinema and its history, but in general just very well done and legitimately engaging despite the range of what you can do being pretty limited.

A worthy sequel to the already great Shadow of Mordor. As with the first game, the storytelling is kind of terrible in terms of pacing and focus, but the gameplay is a ton of fun and the nemesis system is much expanded upon in all the right ways. I even liked the online elements! Definitely play this if you liked the first one.

A fun little adventure! This has a lot in common with Assassin's creed (hold-A climbing/parkour, uncovering points in the map by climbing towers, a mix of stealth and parry-heavy sword fighting), but is executed well and adds enough new stuff (the LoTR setting, many cool orcs to fight, forcing the enemy to fight for you) to be interesting. It also avoids the mistake of throwing in hundreds of boring side quests and collectibles; I 100% finished the main campaign and all the DLCs in 18 hours, and was grateful to have almost no BS busywork to do in the open world. If the trailers make it seem like you'd enjoy it, play it!

PS works great on Steam Deck!

First, I totally get why many people dislike this DLC - the infinite-respawn fights are brutal and probably not fun for most. That being said, the game had become a total cake-walk for me by the point I got started on this (after most of the game's content), and this DLC finally presented me with actually challenges combat challenges. In fact, the DLC includes by far the most challenges in all of Wasteland 3, which required me to use all the tools at my disposal -- even once I never used in any other fights. So, I really enjoyed it! The writing and setting are really good too, and are a nice change from the rest of Wasteland 3.

So, you might enjoy this DLC if you want to challenged. Or you might hate it because it is too challenging. I'd say try it, but be ready for both outcomes.

Pretty nice addition to the base game. The overall setup and plot is pretty interesting and adds to the world-building, even if overall there is not much to the story here. There is quite a bit of comedy in this that I felt mostly worked, with some of it being better than anything in the base game. The new mechanic of disruption is a nice change of pace from not having non-lethal options, and the fights were generally fun. It's a bit expensive for the amount of content there is in here, but cost aside it's definitely a cool addition to the base game that was fun to play through.

A great little mystery story, somewhat boring in terms of its gameplay but kept interesting by fantastic visual design and a brisk pace. Avoid if you think a game about walking around and looking at things is bound to be boring, otherwise give it a try!

A pretty good game, if not an excellent one.

The positives: it's pretty, charming, cute, relaxing, briskly paced, and generally has neat puzzles that are fun to solve. I particularly liked the use of on-rails cameras, which leads to some really fun environmental foreshadowing in the foreground/background.

The negatives: the fairy-tale concept and narration kind of grow old by the end, the plot (insofar there is one) is weak, and the game generally sort of lacks surprises. I liked what this was going for, thematically, but there is no real depth or progression beyond what you get within the first hour, which was disappointing. It would have been nice to have more unique characters with specific backgrounds and troubles, rather than mostly generic NPCs that have quite generic struggles.

Despite that list of negatives, i'd still say this is a good game that is worth playing. It's just seems like it could have been great were it to have more depth and ideas.

(Steam messed up my play time while syncing, I've actually finished the game)

A fantastic game, which I say even while thinking it has a variety of significant flaws.

The good:
* The story is rich and fascinating, which a richly define sci-fi world as well as a touching exploration of deeply human struggles.
* The way the story is told is unique and engaging.
* The visuals and soundtrack are great.
* The gameplay is fun.

The not so good:
* I don't have nostalgia for the early Silent Hill and Resident Evil games, so while I could appreciate what it was doing, it felt like it was sticking following the design more closely than it had to. The puzzles were especially hit or miss; some felt like they fit the tone and general vibe of the rest of the game, but many felt a bit silly and forced.
* As an extension of the above, the gameplay does not quite fit the narrative; a lot is done with environmental storytelling, but unlike the story the gameplay is very familiar and rarely feels out there. It's almost comforting in its familiarity, very much unlike the story. I would have liked more novel elements like the changes in perspective.
* The use of a limited inventory and resulting need to travel back and forth between locations made sense, but I would have really liked it to go with a Resident Evil 4-esque grid inventory. It's a bit silly to require a full inventory slot for tiny objects such as a ring, and the latter sections overstay their welcome due to the amount of back and forth travel needed to solve puzzles and pick up ammo.
* Although I do love the story and the way it is told, I do feel some elements could have been more fleshed out. In particular, the antagonists kind of feel underdeveloped. By the end it's possible to understand their actions, but interactions with them don't quite feel as impactful, in particular because they rarely show up throughout and have no real connection to the character we play.
* Some of the writing in certain sections feels a bit melodramatic, not in keeping with the more subdued tone used throughout the rest of the game.

So... Clearly I do have some complaints. But! These are just things I think could have made this already great game even better. It's a breath of fresh air in many games, and absolutely worth playing for anyone who can enjoy this style of story and gameplay.
