I had been hearing a lot of buzz about this game, and honestly don’t consider myself a massive puzzle fan. 25+ hours later I’m in love with this game, as well as amazed and impressed with what it does. Please don’t hesitate, this game is worth trying!

This game cured my anxiety and saved my family from a fire.

It also has beautiful art and touched me emotionally. That might have been the part that cured the anxiety. Or put out the fire. Maybe both?

I can’t remember the last time less than 5 USD managed to last me 60+ hours, but here I am still playing this game and still finding more enjoyment from it. I can’t recommend this game enough

The Souls game series to me is exactly the kind of games I wanted in my gaming life.

It is what I'd expect if The Legend of Zelda went into dark fantasy and kept it's difficulty from the original games, with it's hidden and often cryptic secrets. Stories, rumors and various secrets are passed along to others playing the game. The online community reminds me of those times before the internet when friends would get together and talk about things they found. "There was a secret under that tree?" "Did you find the Power Bracelet?" "I heard there's an ultra hidden dungeon!" Souls brings back this magic to the gaming world.

It is what I had hoped a seamless 3D IGA Castlevania would be if he had ever made one. A large, seamless world. Plenty of hidden weapons, items, and areas. The feeling that your skill will get you through, or a little grinding. The overall dark feeling to the environment.

The story isn't thrown at you. In fact if you don't go looking for it, you'll think the story is light and barely exists. This game is thick with lore. Every item, weapon, armor, spell... everything has some detailed flavor text, hinting at a story behind the scenes that you otherwise don't see. The internet is full of people speculating and talking about this lore, and with good reason. It's brilliantly given to you in ways you don't expect. Even the environment exhales it's story onto you if you're willing to look for it.

The multiplayer aspects are unique to this series alone. While it seems largely a single player game, most of it can be done in "jolly cooperation," and can also be wrecked by people invading your world and seeking you out for your souls, wanting nothing more than for you to fail. It's a truly unique communtity you won't see elsewhere.

I could go on and on about my love and adoration for these games, but I think the game speaks for itself. Most people die a few times then get frustrated and never touch it again. That's a shame. They are missing out on a truly impressive and magical experience that quickly made these games into my favorite series of all time. I can't recommend this game enough.
