Gearbox has disabled features of existing DLC for those not willing to continue buying new DLC. I cannot recommend purchasing anything they release.

If you didn't buy the Commander Lilith DLC (or get it in the short period of time it was free), and had previously bought the Raid on Digistruct Peak DLC, the primary content unlocked by Digistruct Peak (namely the ability to turn on OP levels and obtain loot at lv73+) is turned off. At this point the only ways to get that content back are (a) reward Gearbox for this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ by shelling out $15 for Commander Lilith, with no guarantee they won't do this again, (b) hope they make Commander Lilith free again, or (c) downgrade to the version of the game before Commander Lilith was released, which is somewhat technical and very error-prone and prevents you from playing with anyone who hasn't also done that.

It's Civ 40k, and it's exactly what you'd want that to be. Even if 40k isn't your thing, if you've always wanted Civ to be less terrible, this might be for you. The multiplayer is absolutely stable, the tactics are good, the factions are fun and distinct, and the economy isn't trivial (but also isn't something you have to micromanage). A couple things are unpolished, but it doesn't matter. A bot-stomping match with a handful of friends takes a few hours, and you can alter the pace of the game in match setup if that doesn't work for you. Easily my biggest annoyance is the DLC proliferation, and that reduces to waiting for a good sale and grabbing a bundle, or grabbing the faction DLCs that catch your interest and making someone who bought all the unit DLCs host the game. Second annoyance is that the default map sizes are small, but there's a mod for that. Third is terrain visibility - sometimes it can suck not knowing what tiles can see what other tiles.
