A simple looking TD roguelike with incredible depth and replayability. If you enjoy a TD that doesn't lock you into the same map design and requires you to think about your choices, then this is for you.

My only major complaint, I found myself forced into the same save early and sacrifice health play style. There wasn't enough incentive to play riskier with no gold hording and early spending usually leads to losing late game.

Like any competitive game where you play for fun and rank is pointless. There is always someone who takes it more serious than you, just to ruin your day. If that doesn't bother you, then I hope you enjoy a massive grind just to get a complete build all the while you'll be playing against people that have been playing for years. If that still doesn't bother you then I'm sure you have friends and enjoy ganging up on poor killers, shame on you!

Buggy client, predatory micro-transactions, stay away and forget about this relic. They have designed themselves into a hole and killed what the game used to be.

The upgrades feel good, the weapons all generally have fun combos and each character has it's own identity and playstyle. Good audio that doesn't get annoying and some of the better looking graphics without any major slowdown like some in the genre. While this game doesn't bring a lot new to the table for now, it's still worth your time to play it.

Most of the weapons feel the same and there is only one real viable build once you start stacking up all of the difficulty mods. This may get remedied in the future but right now the end game needs a lot of work. The music is alright but I turned it off after a couple hours and the graphics are nothing special.

I'd give this a neutral rating since this is early access and things may change but as it stands now there are better games in this genre to play.

I played this during patch 1.1.2 and to sum things up, I was mostly relieved that the game was over once the credits rolled. As many others have said the art and music is fantastic and I found the puzzles and platforming to be mostly enjoyable and well designed. It took me about 36 hours to 100% the game on hard (warrior) with the archer and would call myself very experienced with metroidvanias. Souldiers did a lot of things right but ultimately the dungeons are slogs and enemies that do things such as teleport on top of you repeatedly end up being more obnoxious than fun.

In this games current state I would only really recommend this to someone looking for more of the same as there are clearly better games out there. This is definitely a "buy on sale" but something to keep your eye on if they continue to make more improvements.

My first impression of this game was not great but as the team has been quickly squashing bugs it has grown on me. The customization of your robot feels good and there are many different builds to try. If you aren't a fan of games that are still being worked on it may be best to wishlist this and keep an eye on it. If they keep up the good work and add more content this should only be getting better. Also worth noting that the music is fantastic.

If you enjoy semi-challenging metroidvanias this may be for you. The controls are tight and the bosses aren't complete pushovers. Normal enemies can even get the better of you if you don't respect them. The music ranges from good to great. The English translation is not the best at release but it's passable. A full playthrough took me about 11 hours and I had no major bugs or crashes, rare these days. Overall, a hidden gem among the pile of indie trash.

If you are interested in this for a casual game and don't want to play it as the survival game was originally designed to be, then I can finally recommend this game. Considering that is the condition I would put this rating at neutral. I almost continued to give them a negative review but I want to give them credit for finding a way to get around their bugs making the game unplayable. Enjoy the art and the puzzles but don't try to play this game on any mode but explorer. It's not a matter of difficulty, every time you encounter a bug that gets you stuck your options are restart the game or return to the island using up precious energy.
