TL;DR Great game. Very much worth your time and money.

I was saddened to learn that Hunt Showdown had been brigaded by angry "fans" for various reasons, and felt I had to write a short review, which is something I normally never do.

There is absolutely no pay-to-win introduced in 1.0. You can buy up to 5 extra character slots, which the vast majority aren't gonna use anyway, since you'll be losing your hunters constantly anyway. You can also pay to get some pretty cool looking cosmetics, like in tons of other games, but in what world is that pay-to-win? You can't buy your way to better chances at winning or faster progression.

I realize there probably weren't a ton of female zombie-bountyhunters in the Old West, and while I'm not a fan of forced diversity in games, people complaining about this issue are just... sad human beings.

New deathsounds? Yea, maybe they aren't fantastic, but I really couldn't give a crap if a sound you're gonna hear a couple of times pr game feels a little off. The sound and the atmosphere in this game in general are absolutely fantastic.

The new menu interface is something I still haven't fully formed an opinion on. As an old player, I prefer the old UI, but I also know how unwilling people are to accept changes, and I'm sure that with a little more time getting used to the changed menu, I will grow to like it. I do believe the changes might have been better received, had they been introduced gradually.

The one thing I can agree with some of the negative reviews on, is the slight downgrade of graphics/fidelity. It seems to have been done to avoid new people complaining about stuttering/low FPS and being turned off the game, but in effect it just made old players grumpy, which I can understand. I hope the developers will continue to work on optimization.

Please give this game a chance, and don't listen to the horde of angry and disgruntled people. Or at least take their pessimism with a grain of salt.

1.0 is great, and overall an improvement. Go buy it.
