This game will break you down. It will make you want to quit. You won't believe in yourself at points. But if you are determined enough and keep pushing, the pain will be worth it.

This is one of my favorite platformers/games for many reasons. The controls are very refined and feel amazing to play with. Being able to press a button to rapidly fall adds much more depth than I expected it would, and when mixed with ledge grabbing, it is very simple but lets you express yourself in many ways. Great controls are nothing if you can't put them to good use, and the level design is consistently creative. The End Is Nigh offers 600+ screens, and just about every possibility you could hope for is explored. Falling structures, complex enemies, water sections (better than most), and other mechanics are all mixed together in the main path through the game, side areas, cartridges, and inside Stevens. By far the strongest aspect of The End Is Nigh is its challenge. Every collectible gives a valuable reward, and the game is still satisfying without the extra content. If you just want to beat the game and finish the main objective, you'll be very happy with your experience. If you want to collect every single thing in game, you'll be even happier with your experience. If you want to push yourself to your absolute limits, there are countless challenges that will make you want to pull out your hair and scream, followed by euphoria once you finally do it. The more you play the more you'll love it.
