Have not yet finished this game, but it is a ton of fun. Love the variety of travel from floo powder, to broom, to simply running around. There is a lot to explore. Being able to care for magical creatures is the best! The forced diversity is jarring at times, but otherwise it's pure Wizarding World wish fulfillment of being a student at Hogwarts with a unique mystery to solve.

This sister pair of games (999 and VLR) is excellent. The escape room fun challenged my brain, and the deeply engaging storyline and characters made me laugh and cry. Puzzle-wise, VLR was the more challenging of the two, and despite the two difficulty options, some of the puzzles were tough enough to make me swallow my pride and reach for a walkthrough. Story-wise, my friends recommended the Zero Escape games to me because I loved Danganronpa, another Spike Chunsoft series; though Danganronpa was geared toward teens and Zero Escape toward adults, both offered compelling mysteries that kept me hooked. Overall, I would recommend this set of games to anyone who enjoys puzzles and visual novels.

Hard to convey to anyone who has not played this game yet, but without spoiling any details, the story goes in a very divisive direction. It unravels everything that came before. Best way I can describe it is that I was hoping for a plot continuation of the Danganronpa 3 anime, but instead got Nier Automata. Problem is, Nier Automata's story suited it, but it's awkward here and feels like a backhanded slap at the players. Many may enjoy it, anyway, but I feel like my emotions were toyed with and my time wasted. Fair warning to those who loved the first two main games and the spinoff. While there is much to love in the characters, the overarching plot jumped the shark. It is definitely a thought-provoking journey, and much of the early chapters have the quirks and mystery-solving fun of the first two games, but by the end, I raced to finish it out of sheer frustration, eager for the experience to be over.

When I first watched a let's play of Unholy Heights, the simple strategy caught my eye. I had no idea that once I bought it, I would be hooked.

Much of the fun came from playing landlord and becoming familiar with the different monster types by reading the Bestiary. Over time, as I earned gold from completing quests, it became a personal goal to meet each tenant's requests and stock each room with the highest quality items. But the hardest part was the sad feeling each time invading adventurers killed off my monsters. I loaded previous saves multiple times to try again! Before I knew it, I had been playing the game for hours and had to pry myself away from it.

All told, Unholy Heights is super entertaining, and while challenging, it never breaks your brain. I just finished my first playthrough and have already jumped in again to try catering to other monsters. I would recommend this game to anyone!

I absolutely recommend this. Challenging platformer with a compelling main character and story.

Partway through the game, and I am having a blast. This brings me right back to the 90s when I happily fed quarters to arcade cabinets. The comic book art style of the cutscenes is good, too. Since I am no expert on beat 'em ups, more like a novice, this game is challenging enough for me on Normal. It will definitely be a game I'll turn to if I need to vent frustration and am looking for something fun.

I longed to play these games for years but could not buy them until now, because I never owned a Nintendo DS. Though the updated graphics leave something to be desired, this is classic Ace Attorney at its best.
