GGG is OBSESSED with not allowing a single death in any endgame activity - any death will end the activity. Add terrible server performance to the mix and it's an total disaster. It's incredibly frustrating and I cannot recommend this game. Some of the absolute worst design decisions in the endgame. Early Access isn't an excuse for such intentional decisions.

EDIT: I have a lot more hours into this game now and while the bones of it are great, the designers are very unintelligent. Too much screen spam, extremely poor performance, 1-shot mechanics that are barely telegraphed (IF you could even see it through screen spam), and 17 different ways in which your character will be stunned or slowed to a degree that makes it impossible to react properly. The absurd amount of on-death and the-floor-is-lava effects should be embarrassing as a game designer. They have not only chosen to not learn anything from every aRPG or MMO that came before them, but continuing to cling to their own mistakes with an iron grip.

This game is a LONG LONG ways away from being decent. Good may never come without a wild shift in design philosophy and a measured execution. The incremental steps are there, but GGG still clings on to bad design that can be summed as "making bad slightly less bad, while introducing new bad". It's never good.
