This game has serious potential. It is fairly limited in content at the moment, but for as tiny a team as is working on it now this game really is a labor of love. They have put a lot of work into making this game feel unique. I enjoyed running around and seeing what it had to offer and even with the current content, it still feels like a well done survival game. I have high hopes for the game in the future and can't wait to see what else they come up with! The game already has some interesting trees to progress through and the building and crafting feels quite refined for how early access the game is. I look forward to the next updates!

This game is one of the few that I've played in quite a while that has actually been pleasant to use all around. There are very few games that work so smoothly while still under heavy development. The controls feel intuitive, the building mechanics are extremely in depth and provide an outlet for a huge amount of creativity. I have come across many situations where I was sure the game had shown me all it had in store - and soon after I would discover a new element to the game I had not seen before.

One thing that has surprised me is how much this game has in store currently and in future potential from a single player aspect. Many survival games almost strictly require that you play with other people to get any enjoyment from it. Empyrion is different. I find myself scouring planets and searching the corners of space all on my own at times to find new POIs that I haven't yet come across and I look forward to seeing new ones implemented. I also find myself spending much less time grinding in this game than in many other survival games I've played, which is an appreciated change. I get to spend more of my time creating and exploring than hoping I have enough of something.

The AI at the moment is fairly predictable - but with that being said, it is still smart enough to keep you on your toes and at times puts up a challenging fight. I like the system in place where even AI turrets and enemies target important systems on player ships, it means that ships must be built with some foresight in order to fortify where the enemy might try to disable it.

All in all, I enjoy playing the game and look forward to seeing how the developers improve on what they have as well as discovering the new ideas they bring to the table.

TLDR - I've been pleasantly surprised, the game has a lot of unique and creative ideas, as well as a very well thought out building mechanic. For a game in alpha, I have noticed very few broken mechanics and the game feels very carefully done. Would recommend! 8.5/10

I would not have paid what they were asking at release because frankly there isn't a huge amount of content, but the characters are unique and for free this game is great. Loads of fun to play with friends and even better with a full group.
