Sure, it's a simple game but it's so easy to get into and just cruise around in.. The graphics aren't half bad and there is an actual physics engine compared to previous trucking sims I've tried so that's worth something. Finally, the developers are already hinting at DLC coming in the future.

Edit: Two years later here I am reviewing this game. I'm honestly amazed at how well supported ETS 2 is by both the developers and general community. Three years after the game was released and the game is actively being updated. Not just bug fixes but new trucks and new features, some of which I didn't even realize I needed. Incremental windshield wipers and dynamic weather? Absolutely. New engine noises? Yep. The amount of extra steps the developers have taken to improve small things have all added up to make the game substantially better than when it first released.

Of course, the business model makes sense. Since Euro Truck Simulator 2 was a success they are planning the American counterpart based on the same game engine. This means any development made to ETS 2 will be able to directly carry over to the American Truck Simulator game.

Overall, the game still gets two thumbs up from me and I'm excited to see what will come next.
